Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Day 36: The Animated Blockbuster Continues Its Strong Run

Mumbai, August 30 - Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films' animated epic Mahavatar Narsimha is flexing its box office stamina after 5 weeks, despite the arrival of new releases. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film had already crossed the magical milestone of 300 crores worldwide within 5 weeks, and kicked off the 6th weekend on a strong note. The first film in the epic Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, Mahavatar Narsimha, remained over one crore gross on its sixth Friday at the domestic box office. As per estimates, it has scored approximately 1.15 crores gross in all versions, pushing the total India gross to around 285 crores (239 crores net) in 36 days. Worldwide, it has crossed 310 crores gross collection. The game-changing blockbuster has defied the odds and emerged as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of recent times, and by far the biggest Indian animated blockbuster of all time. Animation is a niche genre in India, with hardly any films coming out. Mahavatar Narsimha, however, is expected to change the mindset of Indian filmmakers regarding the making of animated titles. It has already begun with Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, in which there will be a total of seven films by 2038. The next film in the MCU is Mahavtar Parashurama, which begins production next year and will be released in 2027. The lack of Indian animation titles can be understood with the fact that it was Hanuman, two decades ago in 2005, which was previously the biggest Indian animated title with around 12 crores gross. Though some of the Hollywood animated films have found box office success in India, with titles like The Lion King and Mufasa: The Lion King. Stay tuned...

Mahavatar Narsimha Beats The Lion King To Become The Highest-Grossing Animated Movie In India

Mumbai, August 11 - There is no stopping Mahavatar Narsimha at the box office as the devotional epic action drama continues to rewrite box office records for an Indian animation film. Directed by Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films, the movie had an excellent third weekend, which saw it cross 200 crores worldwide. ## Directed by Ashwin Kumar, Mahavatar Narsimha is already the highest-grossing Indian animated movie of all time by an uncomparable margin, and now, it has become the highest animated grosser at the Indian box office by beating Disney's The Lion King (2019). ## Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King is a photorealistically animated remake of the traditionally animated 1994 film. It grossed over 190+ crores in India in 2019, a record which has now been broken by the first film in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. ## The Indian blockbuster has grossed approximately 202 crores (169+ crores net) in India, while its overseas collection is around 213 crores gross in 17 days so far. These numbers are unheard of for an Indian animation, as the second biggest grosser is 2005's Hanuman, which scored around 11 crores gross domestically. ## Mahavatar Narsimha chronicles the Mahaan avatars of Bhagwan Vishnu - Varaha and Narsimha. Varaha, a mighty boar, rescues Bhudevi (Mother Earth) from the Asura Hiranyaksha. After his victory, the story shifts to Hiranyakashipu, Hiranyaksha's brother, who gains a boon, declares himself a god, and oppresses Vishnu’s followers. Prahlad, his son and devoted follower of Vishnu, remains faithful despite his father's threats. To save Prahlad and defeat evil, Vishnu appears as Narsimha, a half-man, half-lion form, who kills Hiranyakashipu while honouring the conditions of the demon's boon from Bhagwan Brahma.## Stay tuned...

Mahavatar Narsimha Is The Number 1 Movie This Weekend (August 1-3) At The Indian Box Office, Beating Combined Gross of Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2

Mumbai, August 4 - It was another weekend of surprise blockbusters and underwhelming performances at the Indian box office. Despite the arrival of three new films with known stars, it was Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films' Mahavatar Narismha, which dominated the weekend (August 1-3) and emerged as the number 1 film in India. ## Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the epic animated devotional action drama had a remarkable second weekend domestically with approximately 55 crore gross collection (46.50 crores net), up by an unheard growth of around 190% from the opening weekend collection of 19 crores gross (15.85 crores net). For an animated Indian title, these are out of this world numbers. ## The excellent second weekend has taken the total collection of Mahavatar Narsimha to around 108.50 crores gross (91.25 crores net) at the domestic box office, while the worldwide cume total is approximately 112 crores. It is already the highest-grossing Indian animated film of all time by a long margin, and also the highest-grossing animated film in India (not including The Lion King and Mufasa: The Lion King). ## The second biggest grosser of the weekend (August 1-3) at the Indian box office was Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, which otherwise underperformed.
