Mumbai, July 23 - Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer slice-of-life comedy-drama film Goodbye has been announced to release in theaters on October 7, 2022. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie marks Rashmika's Bollywood debut.



Produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Vikas Bahl's Good Co., the movie also stars Neena Gupta, Pavail Gulati, Elli AvrRam, Sunil Grover, and Sahil Mehta. The first look still from the movie also revealed.





Goodbye is a heartwarming story about life, family & relationships. The film will take the audience on a roller-coaster of emotions filled with laughter, warmth & tears.

According to the latest reports, the movie is currently being reshoot for a major portion. It is said that 10 days' worth of scenes that were already shot have been completely scrapped. Meanwhile, the film has reportedly been titled Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. It has been taken for the title song of the Aashiqui film. "When choosing the title, it was a pre-emptive move by the makers to avoid making a direct reference to Aashiqui. The team wanted a name that evoked nostalgia but didn't risk legal or creative complications. Tu Meri Zindagi Hai felt like the perfect fit", says the report by Mid-Day. Aashiqui has been a cult franchise, but due to creative differences between producer Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt before they parted ways, the makers can't use the same title as the film. But the makers feel that Tu Meri Zindagi Hai fits perfectly while avoiding legal complications. "It's a classic love story with Basu's signature treatment of the genre. With the release more than six months away, it gives the team time to weave in some additional tracks. The latest schedule is underway in Mumbai, and the film will be shot till 2025-end, with patchwork spilling on to early 2026", the report added. It scored over 50% on Saturday for around 1.75 crores net, followed by another decent jump on Sunday to mint 2.15 crores. The Subhash Kapoor directorial minted approximately 5 crores net in its third weekend, pushing total net collection to 108 crores in 17 days. The third weekend trend, though, is on the lower level overall, indicating that the movie has some gas still left, which should help it reach 115 crores lifetime net collection. Jolly LLB 2 is currently the biggest grosser of the franchise with 117 crores net collections. It needs to be seen if the third instalment can cross that figure and become the biggest net grosser of the franchise.
