Dulquer Salmaan's 'Hey Sinamika' Release Date Locked

Kochi, November 17 - Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan waited for months to release his crime drama thriller film "Kurup" in theaters. The film is now ruling the box office as it turned out to be a blockbuster outing for the makers after crossing Rs. 50 crores worldwide.



With the success of "Kurup" on one hand, Dulquer is gearing up for the release of his next film, "Hey Sinamika", which is a Tamil romantic comedy, directed by choreographer Brinda. As per reports, "Hey Sinamika" will be released in the month of February 2022 in theaters.



The film has Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari playing the female leads. The film tells the story of a couple, played by Dulquer and Hydari, and how five years into their marriage, the woman has had enough of her fussy, stay-at-home husband and plans for separation.



"Hey Sinamika" is produced by Jio Studios and Global One Studios. Madhan Karky is credited as the film's story, screenplay, dialogues, and lyric writer, while Govind Vasantha and Preetha Jayaraman were announced as the film's music composer and cinematographer, respectively.

The film set social media abuzz and drew massive crowds, cementing Rajinikanth's dominance at the box office yet again. ## But as they say, all that glitters is not gold, and that's what's happening with Coolie. Despite the spectacular start, the film is now showing signs of slowing down. With big drops during weekdays, it makes it almost impossible for the film to challenge the all-time Tamil box office record grosser, which is Rajinikanth's own hit 2 Point 0, which itself underperformed. ## The gangster action drama, after the record weekend of 385 crores worldwide, has dropped heavily on the first two working days with a combined total of around 33-35 crores worldwide. After 6 days, the film's total collection stands at around 418-420 crores worldwide, which could have easily been around 450 crores with a positive reception, which it did not have. ## Industry trackers, who were predicting Coolie to become the biggest Tamil grosser before release, suggest that it may wrap up its global run under 550 crore.
