Former WWE Champion Big E Joins Cast Of Family Comedy 'F Plus'

Tampa, August 14, 2023 - Former WWE Champion Big E, who is still recovering from a serious neck injury that has sidelined him for over a year, remains active in a new movie role. The family comedy titled "F Plus (F+)" was announced recently, featuring Big E (Ettore Ewen) as part of the cast alongside former UFC two-division champion and action star Randy Couture. The screenplay was penned by Jonathan Davenport, a wrestling gear designer and a friend of Big E's.

In the movie, Big E will portray the character Cliff Barker, though the specific details of his role are currently undisclosed. The film also includes comedian Tommy Davidson (known for "In Living Color") and Jennifer Esposito (recognized for her work in "Crush," "Blue Bloods," "NCIS," and "The Affair").

WWE Studios is not connected to this project. The storyline of the movie centers around a group of young teenagers who devise a plan to break into their middle school to modify their failing test grades.

The film's production recently concluded under a SAG-AFTRA waiver granted to select independent film productions amid the ongoing actors/writers strike. Premiere Entertainment has already acquired the worldwide rights to the movie, as announced alongside the project. The release date is pending as the rights are yet to be sold. Premiere intends to present the film to domestic and international buyers during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, according to Deadline.

Although Big E has been out of a neck brace for some time, he revealed during a SummerSlam press conference that he "has no answers" regarding a potential return to in-ring action. He mentioned differing opinions on whether he should resume wrestling and stressed that there is no set timeline for making a decision. Physically, he indicated feeling well.

Big E Believes The New Day Could Have A Fill-in Member Of The Faction While He's Sidelined

The New Day, a trio of wrestlers consisting of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods, has cemented their place as one of professional wrestling's most formidable tag teams since their formation in 2014.## They boast several impressive records within WWE, including holding the SmackDown Tag Team Championship a record seven times and the Raw Tag Team Championship for a record-breaking 483 days.## Unfortunately, Big E's wrestling career has been put on hold since March 11, 2022, due to a neck injury. During an episode of SmackDown, he sustained a fractured C1 and C6 vertebrae after taking a dangerous maneuver from Ridge Holland.## Despite Big E's absence, the group (comprising Big E, Kingston, and Woods) remains a cohesive unit. They have enjoyed numerous championship reigns together since 2016.## In a recent interview with WhatCulture Wrestling, Big E revealed that he offered his teammates the option of adding a temporary member while he recovers. However, both Kingston and Woods vehemently oppose this idea, insisting on preserving the group's original three-man dynamic. ## "It's been quite a journey," Big E stated. "We've been aiming for the 10-year mark for a while now, and it's not the same without me. I let the guys know that they're free to bring in someone while I'm out, but they're always adamant about keeping it the original three. I truly appreciate their loyalty." ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Big E Gives An Update On His WWE Return, 'I'm Trying To Make The Best Decision For Myself And My Health'

New York, 2 November - I believe it's almost time for Big E to make his WWE comeback following a significant injury that has kept him sidelined for over a year now.## After his move to SmackDown and reuniting with the New Day, the team began a feud with Sheamus and Ridge Holland. On the March 11th episode of SmackDown, Big E suffered a major injury when Holland accidentally performed a belly-to-belly suplex at ringside.## It was later revealed that he had a broken neck with fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae, but thankfully, there was no ligament or spinal cord damage. However, doctors advised him not to wrestle again, despite the absence of nerve damage or strength issues. ## During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Big E provided an update on his return. ## "Right now, there is really no timeline. I've been to a few different doctors who have looked over my scans. I don't have any issues, I feel great, but I broke my C1 in two different places, it's called a Jefferson fracture and because of the nature of the fracture, it takes longer to heal. Initially, they told me three months. ## I thought three months and I would be back to wrestling, but things ended up being more complex. There are chances I might take with a broken forearm or finger. An ACL (injury), I've had before. I started wrestling when I was 23, and at the time, I was like, 'If I die in the ring, doing what I love, so be it.' I'm 37 now and you see life differently and you have other things to think about." ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Big E Reflects On Disappointing WWE Championship Reign As A Learning Experience

Big E's tenure as WWE Champion left many fans feeling disappointed, a sentiment that was shared by the wrestling star himself. ## In 2021, Big E emerged victorious in the Money in the Bank contract match, which granted him the opportunity to challenge for the WWE Championship at any time of his choosing. He announced his intention to cash in on the same day he won the contract, waiting for the right moment to strike. He ultimately chose to cash in after Bobby Lashley successfully defended his championship against Randy Orton, seizing the title for himself. ## However, Big E's reign was short-lived, as he lost the championship at the Day 1 event in January of 2022. Brock Lesnar was able to pin him in a grueling five-way match, putting an end to his time as WWE Champion. As a result of the loss, Big E was transferred to the SmackDown brand, where he joined forces with his longtime partners in The New Day. ## While speaking with PopCulture, Big E looked back on the title reign: ## “It was a great learning experience for me. It was one of those things where if I’m being honest, I wanted more. I didn’t feel like I had the best reign. I feel like there was a lot of meat left on the bone. A lot more that we could have done there,” Big E stated. “For me, I was really fortunate and really blessed to have that opportunity and really grateful for it as well.” ## Really feeling like I’m meant to do this. For, for me, in many ways, even though I wanted more out of the reign and felt like a lot more could have been accomplished in-ring and on TV, SmackDown, Raw. As much as I have those feelings, I’m also so grateful for the opportunity and so grateful for so many doors that have opened because of that run.” ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.
