Nia Jax Turns Down Offered Spot In The Women's Royal Rumble Match

As noted earlier, Nia Jax asked WWE for time off to take care of her mental health, but on November 4, Jax was released from her WWE contract.





Jax appeared on the latest episode of Renée Paquette's podcast "The Sessions" in a very open and honest discussion about her WWE experience.





Jax stated that she was called and asked about returning to the company for a Royal Rumble appearance and her response to that idea was "F*** No" and that was she was not coming back. She noted she was still being paid by the company under her 90-day non-compete so there was no reason for them to pay her for the appearance and shut the idea down.





I did," she confirmed to Renee Paquette on The Sessions when asked if she was offered a spot in the women's Royal Rumble. "I was in the middle of trying to get my stuff back. I had a bunch of crap. You know how it is, you're just shoving stuff in everybody's boxes. I'm in the middle of getting my stuff back, they sent me a box and more than half was missing. I'm like, 'Yo, what is going on?' When I got the call, I thought it was about, 'Where is my stuff?' It's my homie in [Talent Relations]. 'Hey, we're just calling to see if you'd be interested in participating in the Royal Rumble.' I started hysterically laughing.





I thought it was my friend joking with me. 'Oh, you're hiliarious.' 'Actually, this is an official call.' 'Oh, fuck no, I'm not coming back.' 'We'd like to offer you this.' I said, 'first of all, I'm still under my 90 days. You're still going to be paying me anyway, so you're not offering me anything. No, I'm not coming back. Absolutely fucking not. Is this all it was?' 'Yes.' 'Okay, bye.'"





When asked by Paquette if it felt like a slap in the face, Jax said, "That's exactly what it was. They were accumulating a list, this is what I was told, they were accumulating a list and wanted to offer me the opportunity, accumulate a list that they send to Vince, then Vince goes through the list and says who he wants and who he doesn't. I was like, 'You're asking me to be part of a list to go to the next step? Fuck no. How much more can you shit on me?' 'We didn't want her to feel left out. If it got around that she didn't get ask, we didn't want her to feel left out.' 'Fuck you, that's such bullshit.' You needed people and I definitely [nixed] that."

Rhea goes for a clothesline, but it has no effect on Nia. Ripley tries a headbutt, and this one connects. Nia retaliates with a clothesline, followed by a Swanton. She then throws Ripley into the corner.## Nia executes a leg drop to the back of Rhea and then forcefully sends her face-first into the mat, ripping at Rhea's arm in the process. Nia goes for a submission, and Ripley tries to turn the tide of offense. As Nia lifts Ripley onto her shoulders, Ripley fights back, transitioning it into a Guitien, but Jax escapes with a stomp. Nia follows up with two consecutive Powerbombs, finishing with a leg drop, but only manages to secure a near fall. ## Rhea stomps on Nia's body, then ascends to the top rope and follows up with a dropkick, but it's not enough for the win. She delivers a clothesline, but Nia counters with a Samoan drop and attempts a leg drop. However, Ripley sidesteps and lands a dropkick.## Rhea ascends to the top again, but Nia halts her momentum with a forearm strike. Nia joins Rhea on the top rope and executes a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Undeterred, Nia attempts another high-risk move, but Rhea counters, hoisting her onto her shoulder and sending her face-first into the turnbuckle. Ripley follows up with a Frog splash for a near fall.## As Rhea is sent over the top ropes, Nia positions herself on the apron and attempts a kick, but Rhea catches her and sends her crashing onto the apron. Rhea then clears off the announce desk but is countered by Nia, who delivers a Samoan drop followed by an elbow.## Nia returns Rhea to the ring, climbs to the top rope, and connects with the Annihilator for another near fall. Rhea is clearly in agony as Nia continues her assault. Nia positions Rhea near the turnbuckle and attempts another high-risk move, but Rhea intervenes, dragging her between the ropes. However, Nia regains control and heads back to the top rope.
