IPL 2020: Virat Kohli Hails 'Super-Human' AB de Villiers For His Masterful Knock On A Tough Pitch

AB de Villiers proved his undeniable brilliance yet again and played a memorable knock on a tough pitch for the batsmen. At Sharjah's pitch which has been a batting paradise so far, was on a slower side for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders' match on Monday (October 12). ## While all the other batsmen were struggling to find runs, AB de Villiers came and single-handedly stole the show for his sensational knock of unbeaten 73 off 33 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. His knock helped RCB to register a massive win 82-runs in the IPL 2020. ## RCB's skipper Virat Kohli heaped praise on ABD with whom, he added 100 runs off just 46 balls. He said that the team was looking to get around 165-170 runs but because of the ABD's masterful innings, they could reach on such a big target of 194 in 20 overs. ## "At the toss, the pitch didn't have the usual Sharjah sheen. Knew the wicket was going to get slower and slower. Barring one super-human, everyone struggled on that pitch. The talk was around 165-170. The preparation was really good. The three-week camp helped us. Have clarity of plans. Know exactly what we want to do on the field. It all depends on the mindset. It's very positive", Virat said in the post-match presentation with Murali Kartik. ## "On a pitch like that, only AB can do that. It was a special knock. We got 195 purely because of the genius of that man. Always things you can reflect on and say you can improve on these things. All about taking this momentum forward. Don't want to be complacent", he added. ## Meanwhile, RCB is moved up in the points table. With 5 wins in 7 matches, the three times finalist is currently sitting at number 3 with 10 points after Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Now, the team will next face Kings XI Punjab on October 15 in Sharjah. ## Stay tuned...

Former South Africa captain and one of the best batsmen of all-time, AB de Villiers said that he is a better batsman than Indian captain Virat Kohli when it comes to changing the game quicker. However, he also said that Kohli is a more reliable batsman than him as the later likes to bat deeper in the innings. ## While talking to Harsha Bhogle on a Cricbuzz in Conversation episode on Wednesday, de Villiers said, "We take on different bowlers. I personally like to attack a little earlier, not to show weakness early on. I am earlier to the trigger. I want the bowlers to feel early on that it will be trouble if I"™m allowed to bat for 5 overs".## "Virat is a more reliable batsman. He"™s the one you want to bat for 15 overs. I am better in a way I could change the game quicker, have an injection that could swing the game. So together we are a nice combo", he added.## Also Read - Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers picked India-South Africa combined ODI XI ## AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli are two of the most successful players in the history of the Indian Premier League. And I think Virat will also say that he set the standards for us to follow", de Villiers said.## "But personally, in a chase, I'd say Virat is the best I've seen in my life. Sachin was amazing in all formats and all situations, but Virat comes out on top while chasing."## Stay tuned...

Top 5 Fastest Centuries In ODI World Cup History

England captain Eoin Morgan slammed a 57-ball hundred against Afghanistan in match number 24 of World Cup 2019 at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester on Tuesday (June 18). This is the 4th fastest hundred in World Cup history. His innings was cut short by Gulbadin Naib after hammering 148 off just 71 balls.## Here is the list of TOP 5 fastest centuries in World Cup ## 1. Kevin O'Brien (IRE, 50 balls) - Ireland's all-rounder Kevin O'Brien has a record for the fastest century in World Cup. In 2011 against England, O'Brien smashed a 50-ball century and helped Ireland to chase down 328 with 5 balls to spare. He smashed 113 off 63 balls including 13 fours and 6 sixes against the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, and Graeme Swann.## 2. Glenn Maxwell (AUS, 51 balls) - Australian hard hitter Glenn Maxwell took Sri Lankan bowlers apart in Sydney in 2015. Australia scored 376 batting first and beat Sri Lanka convincingly at the end by 64 runs. But it was Maxwell who was the architect of his side's big win. He got out after smashing 102 off 53 balls including 10 fours and 4 sixes.## 3. AB de Villiers (SA, 52 balls) - South African star and one of the greats of the game, AB de Villiers pummeled West Indies in a group match in 2015 when he blasted 162 off just 66 balls including 17 fours and 8 gigantic sixes in Sydney. 'Virat Kohli Is A Ridiculous Man,' AB de Villiers Opens Up On Camaraderie With RCB Teammate

The camaraderie between the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bangalore's teammate AB de Villiers is not a hidden secret now. Both have been involved in so many great partnerships while playing for the RCB in Indian Premier League and also both share a unique bond with each other.## De Villiers during a candid interview with Gaurav Kapur on his Youtube show "˜Breakfast with Champions"™ opened up on his friendship with batting sensation Virat Kohli while revealing some interesting stories about their off-the-field chemistry. He revealed that the Indian skipper always treat his family and kids well despite disturbing him a lot.## "œWe are neighbours. If it wasn"™t for the mosquitoes here, we would"™ve left our doors open and probably would"™ve shared a big room. Anushka"™s here all the time, my family is there, the kids are running around. The kids were knocking on his door, early in the morning waking him up. He would let them in and would have coffee together. They were so good with the kids. We spent hours in the pool together, everyone just jumping and diving, and they"™re so chilled," de Villiers said.## It is the bond between him and Kohli that made de Villiers call his RCB teammate a "˜ridiculous man"™ only because Virat Kohli gifts him stuff whenever he (de Villiers) complains about a thing or two and said that he looks after everyone around him.## "œI"™m scared of saying anything to him now because. If I say like, "œOh, I like your shoes." The next minute he organizes me those shoes. I"™m like, "œVirat, just stop it". He looks after everyone. I was like, "œMy phone is flat again." "œOh, you need a power bank." There you go. Now it"™s mine. He"™s ridiculous, man. I told him I like coffee the other day. Now I"™m getting an espresso machine- he"™s ordered on Amazon. It"™s being delivered tomorrow," de Villiers added.## It has been more than a year since the South African star retired from international cricket at the age of 34 and everyone was left unanswered why he stopped playing at international level so early. Well, the 35-year-old have some plans of playing international cricket as he said that he might return to the international circuit and participate in the 2023 World Cup if MS Dhoni was still around.## "œHow old will I be (in 2023)? 39! I"™ll come back if MS is still around (laughs). If I"™m still good enough, who knows eh? I was keen to play the World Cup (2019) but I retired, so it was a very sensitive situation. For the last 3 years of my career, I was labelled as a guy who was picking and choosing when I was playing and when not," De Villiers said during a candid interview with Gaurav Kapur on his Youtube show "˜Breakfast with Champions"™.## "œSo I got quite a lot of criticism from back home which also played a role in me retiring. And it was difficult for me to then go: "˜Hey, but I"™ll still play the World Cup"™. You know, it"™s the picking and choosing thing again. And it"™s quite arrogant to do something like that. But as they say, you can"™t have your bread buttered on both sides," added de Villiers. ## AB de Villiers, famously known as MR. 360 degree took retirement last year after playing his last Test match against Australia at the home soil. Though it was a sudden decision de Villiers said that there were numerous reasons which motivated him to take this decision.## "œI"™ve always been about the team. It"™s never been about myself. But I found myself in a position where I had to make a decision where it"™s going to look like I"™m thinking about just myself. There"™s a lot of reasons I had to move on. There"™s a lot of things that played a role. Family is definitely a big part of it. The longevity of, like, I mean I"™ve played for 15 years. I was just tired of the whole international scene. It"™s quite busy, very stressful. The mental games, the doubts you have as a person, as a player all the time, it wears you down. And being captain of the Proteas for a long time also took its toll you know."## "œAnd then there are a few deeper issues that might have to be discussed when I"™m 50 one day (laughs). There"™s a part of me that"™ll always miss it. I mean, I had so much fun. It"™s everything that goes with it. I wish I could push on longer but like I said at the start I had a great run and more dreams came true than I could ever imagine. And there was lots of heartbreaks as well along the way. And that"™s the great ride that we all go through," said AB de Villiers. ## Follow for more...

"I do believe South Africa have a chance, as we did at any other World Cup because we are a world-class team with plenty of match-winners. The Proteas are certainly in the running, but I won"™t say they are the favorites to be honest with you.## "India and England are looking strong, Australia has won five World Cups in the past and Pakistan claimed the Champions Trophy in the UK two years ago. Those four teams are probably the favorites," De Villiers told Sport24.## De Villiers who will be seeing playing IPL starting from March 23 for RCB along with Virat Kohli. The duo has been one of the most successful pairs in the history of the Indian Premier League and hence, they know each other more than anyone else. Keeping the world cup in mind, de Villiers feels that Virat Kohli's purple patch will give India an edge which has propelled him to No.1 in the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen, aren't going to stop any time soon.## "Virat"™s performances over the last while have been incredible and I can"™t see it stopping very soon," de Villiers said. "I have played with him for eight years now in the IPL and you can never take the class out of the guy. I see lots of similarities between myself and Virat. We are both fighters and don"™t enjoy losing, we love batting together and taking the game away from teams."## While the other former players and legends of the game are still arguing for the best ODI batsman of all time between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, both de Villiers and Ponting feel that Virat Kohli is the greatest batsman of all time in ODIs.## "If Virat has a good World Cup, India will win. His numbers show that he is the best. How old is he? Maybe 30, and he is going to play another 200 games. I don't think there will be many people who are going to argue against him being the best," Ponting told TOI.## Follow for more...
