'Love Today' Hindi Remake Gets A Release Date

Mumbai, September 17 - Superstar Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan and late Sridevi's daughter Khushi Kapoor are set to make their big screen debut with the untitled romantic comedy which is said to be the Hindi remake of Love Today, one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2022. ## The film, directed by Advait Chandan, has been confirmed to hit the big screens on February 7, 2025. It is produced by Phantom Studios in association with AGS Entertainment which also produced the original movie. ## While the official title is yet not announced, it is said that the movie has been titled Loveyapa, named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa. Mumbai, June 2 - One of the biggest Tamil hits of 2022, romantic-comedy Love Today is getting its Hindi remake with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in the lead roles while Advait Chandan, who directed Secret Superstar (2017) and Lal Singh Chaddha (2022), is directing it. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Hindi remake of Love Today has been titled Loveyapa, named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa. Junaid and Khushi play a deeply-in-love young couple in this quirky love story. ## Produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, the shoot of Loveyapa reportedly commenced on May 27 and is currently being shot at Mira Road in Mumbai. The makers are looking to complete the outdoor shoot two weeks before the arrival of the monsoon, as per the report. ## Meanwhile, Junaid Khan is making his debut with YRF's Maharaj which is scheduled to release on Netflix on June 14. Mumbai, May 24 - One of the biggest Tamil hits of the last year, romantic-drama Love Today is getting a Hindi remake. The Hindi filmmakers continue to invest in remakes despite the fact that most of them are not performing well. ## It was recently revealed that Phantom Studios in association with "Love Today" original producers AGS Entertainment will be producing the Bollywood remake. Now, according to the latest reports, the makers have locked the lead star cast and director for the same. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, superstar Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan, and Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, have been locked in to headline the "Love Today" remake. "Laal Singh Chaddha" director Advait Chandan has been brought on board to helm the Hindi version. ## "The movie is an entertaining look at love in today's technologically advanced world and has very well been adapted for Hindi-speaking audiences. Mumbai, October 12 - Superstar Aamir Khan's comedy-drama film Laal Singh Chaddha may have underperformed at the box office but it is being loved by the audience on Netflix which is the official streaming partner of the movie. ## Directed by Advait Chandan, the film was digitally streamed on Netflix from 6 October 2022 in Hindi and dubbed versions of Tamil and Telugu languages. It arrived way early on the streamer than the original plans, mostly because of its low performance at the box office where it grossed approx. 134 crores worldwide. ## On Netflix, "Laal Singh Chaddha" was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide in its opening weekend. It scored 6.63 million viewing hours in the first three days and was the most-watched Indian movie during the week (October 3 - 9) on Netflix. Box Office: Laal Singh Chaddha And Raksha Bandhan Collect Below 100 Crores Combined In The First Week

Mumbai, August 19 - Bollywood superstars Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar's Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, respectively have completed an extended opening week at the box office and numbers are something that industry had never thought about. ## The combined collection of both the films is around 90 crores net, which is not even close to what trade had predicated before the release. ## "Laal Singh Chaddha", which is the remake of the Hollywood classic hit "Forrest Gump", has been a bigger disappointment as its first-week collection (~ 50 cr) couldn't even cross the opening day numbers of Aamir Khan's last film "Thugs of Hindostan" which scored 50.75 crores net in 2018. ## Directed by Advait Chandan, the overseas collection of the film is somehow respectable with close to 50 crores gross (not final) but the domestic box office is forgettable, to say the least. The negativity around the film before its release also played a massive role in its disastrous fate even though the reception for the film was mixed. ## On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-fronted "Raksha Bandhan" too couldn't get going despite the positive word of mouth. The stakes for the film were low but it still performed underwhelmingly, especially knowing the fact that it has a perfect holiday period to outshine the underfire LSC. As a result, RB scored approx. 39 crores net while the overseas collection is approx. 8 crores, for the worldwide gross total of the film at 54 crores after 8 days. ## The Bollywood industry has now pinned its hopes on the next big release, which is director Ayan Mukerji's magnum opus "Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva". Mumbai, August 15 - The box office misery for Bollywood continues as Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar-fronted Raksha Bandhan failed to get the benefit of a long holiday period. These two films were expected to bring some relief to the Hindi film industry but they performed underwhelmingly over the 4-day opening weekend. ## Talking about Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha, the film faced multiple challenges due to the boycott calls and mixed word of mouth also didn't help the cause. The remake of the Hollywood classic blockbuster Forrest Gump, "Laal Singh Chaddha" scored 37.96 crores net collection in the first 4 days, which is the lowest opening weekend total for an Aamir Khan film (lead role) since 32.25 crores of "Ghajini" (3 days).## At the overseas box office, the Advait Chandan-directed film has performed better than the domestic market and has grossed 43 crores so far. The worldwide cume total of the film reached 88 crores after 44 days. The movie is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions while Paramount Pictures distributed the film in international markets.## On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-fronted family comedy-drama film, Raksha Bandhan also met the same fate as LSC. Despite the positive reviews and word of mouth, the Anand L Rai-directed couldn't pick up over the weekend after a decent start. Mumbai, August 8 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his most-awaited comedy-drama film Laal Singh Chaddha, said that the digital platforms are not a challenge to big screen cinema but the filmmakers are making it a challenge to the cinema. ## Aamir was recently in Chennai for the promotions of Laal Singh Chaddha. During an interview with Galatta, the superstar spoke about what the Indian film industry needs to do to save cinema. It is a well-known fact that Aamir is a huge ambassador of big screens cinema and his upcoming movie is also designed for the big screen only. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, many films opted for a short theatrical window which has largely backfired. Aamir said that the industry must understand that to save cinema, there must be a bigger gap between theatrical release and OTT premiere. ## The actor went on to say that the industry is not putting effort to bring the audiences to the theaters by keeping a short theatrical window. He said that when a movie will come to OTT within 4 weeks, how can filmmakers expect the audience to come to theaters to watch movies. ## Adding further, the PK actor said that the industry should give a clear choice to the audience that if they want to watch the film on OTT then they have to wait for 6 months.
