De De Pyaar De 2 Collection: Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh's Rom-Com Tops 100 Crore Worldwide

Mumbai, November 25 - Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh-fronted romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2 has topped the 100 crore worldwide mark, a decent milestone at the global box office. Directed by Anshul Sharma, DDPD2 took 12 days to go past the century mark worldwide. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While entering the 100-crore club is always noteworthy for a rom-com, the overall performance of the sequel is being viewed as satisfactory rather than impressive, especially considering the expectations attached to the brand value of the first film. The film opened on a modest note, and though it picked up over the weekend, the growth wasn't strong enough to signal a major blockbuster run. Gradual progress over the weekdays and a steady second weekend helped the film push its worldwide gross to over 100 crore, allowing it to just about cross the benchmark. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) At the domestic box office, DDPD2 has grossed approximately 77.50 crores in 12 days, which also reflects the mixed trend "” not a failure, but far from the commanding numbers expected from a franchise-driven urban entertainer. Overseas, the film has posted around 22.50 crores so far to take its global tally past 100 crores. Despite this, De De Pyaar De 2 remains a fairly acceptable box-office outing, buoyed by family audiences. Overall, the film's entry into the 100 crore worldwide club is a decent achievement, but the verdict remains clear "” the result is not extraordinary, merely satisfactory, and certainly below what trade circles had anticipated before release. Salman Khan To Release Battle of Galwan On Eid 2026?

Mumbai, November 24 - Superstar Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan is shaping up to be one of the biggest Bollywood films of the next year. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the war action drama has been in the news since its announcement, with buzz growing each passing day. As the shoot of the film is nearing its end, the suspense over the release date continues to grow. Earlier, it was reported that Salman was planning to release it in June 2026 due to a packed schedule early in the year. However, the latest reports hint that it might be released early. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to Bollywood Hungama, the superstar is toying with the idea and considering if his war film can arrive on Eid 2026. Eid has been synonymous with Salman Khan over the years, with any of his films getting released on this festival. Earlier, the actor reportedly decided not to bring BoG during the frame as there are already a couple of big movies releasing. Currently, Yash's Toxic and Ajay Devgn's Dhamaal 4 are scheduled to hit the screens on Eid 2026. However, the postponement of Ranbir Kapoor's Love and War, which was supposed to release on this festival, might have tempted Salman to bring Battle of Galwan to his most celebrated festive slot. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) There are rumours that Toxic might also get postponed due to a delay in production, even though the makers recently reconfirmed their release plans. If it indeed gets postponed, then it might be easy for Salman Khan and team to release BoG during that time, and clash with Dhamaal 4. For that, the Sultan star is seriously considering and will take a call on the same soon. Produced by Salman Khan Films, the film is based on the events that took place between the Indian and Chinese troops at the Galwan region on June 15, 2020, when 200 Indian soldiers bravely defended their territory against a force of 1200 Chinese Liberation Army soldiers. Kartik Aaryan vs Ajay Devgn Round 2: Is the actor gearing up to challenge Drishyam 3 with another massive box office clash in October 2026?

The box office battle lines are being drawn early. Following the massive Diwali 2024 face-off, Kartik Aaryan and Ajay Devgn appear destined to lock horns again on the Gandhi Jayanti weekend of 2026. T-Series announces release date for its upcoming romantic musical drama T178, arriving in cinemas on 1 October 2026 pic.twitter.com/3LpiVOQhYM— T-Series (@TSeries) November 19, 2025 If industry whispers and recent release date blocking are to be believed, Bollywood is gearing up for an encore of the historic clash we witnessed between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. In a move that signals growing confidence in Kartik Aaryan"™s box office pull, Bhushan Kumar"™s T-Series has reportedly locked a release date that pits the young star directly against veteran superstar Ajay Devgn"”again. According to industry buzz, the team behind the highly anticipated Drishyam 3"”led by Ajay Devgn and Panorama Studios"”has marked the October 2, 2026 (Gandhi Jayanti) holiday for the release of the third installment of the cult crime-thriller franchise. However, in a surprising strategic move, Bhushan Kumar and Kartik Aaryan have reportedly announced the release of their upcoming untitled romantic musical drama for October 1, 2026"”just one day prior. This development comes hot on the heels of the Diwali 2024 clash, where Aaryan"™s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 went head-to-head with Rohit Shetty"™s cop universe epic, Singham Again. While many predicted the clash would eat into the business of both films, the results showed that Aaryan could hold his own against a multi-starrer vehicle What creates the most intrigue around this prospective battle is the stark contrast in genres. In the veteran"™s corner lies a proven goldmine: Drishyam 3. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the return of the Salgaonkar family is expected to be a cinematic event, riding high on the cult status of its predecessors. Countering this crime-thriller legacy is Kartik Aaryan"™s untitled romantic musical with T-Series, reportedly helmed by Anurag Basu. While the project was initially buzzed to be the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise, rights issues may necessitate a fresh title. Adding to Aaryan's rising stock is his current positioning within the industry. Beyond his stronghold with T-Series, the actor is now well-entrenched in Karan Johar"™s Dharma Productions, with two films reportedly in the pipeline. This consolidation of support from Bollywood"™s two biggest production houses (T-Series and Dharma) provides the strategic backing needed to announce release dates aggressively. While the Diwali clash proved that two big films can coexist, trade analysts often argue that solo releases maximize revenue. The decision to release the Kartik Aaryan starrer on October 1"”getting a one-day head start on Drishyam 3"”suggests Bhushan Kumar is banking on a strong opening day to seize the narrative before the legacy franchise takes over the holiday screens. As of now, makers are keeping creative details of the romantic drama under tight wraps to build intrigue. But one thing is certain: October 2026 is already heating up to be a battle for supremacy.

De De Pyaar De 2 Shows Good Hold at Box Office, Grosses Over ₹68 Crore Worldwide in 5 Days

The romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Rakul Preet Singh, has shown a Noteworthy performance at the box office, collecting ₹44.25 crore net in India within its first five days of release. The film, which is a sequel to the 2019 hit "De De Pyaar De," had a decent opening weekend but saw a significant drop on its first Monday. The film kicked off its theatrical run with an opening day collection of ₹8.75 crore. It witnessed a significant jump over the weekend, earning ₹12.25 crore on Saturday and ₹13.75 crore on Sunday. However, collections saw a dip on Monday, bringing in ₹4.25 crore. The film then saw a slight increase on Tuesday, collecting ₹5.25 crore. Early estimates for Wednesday suggest a collection of around ₹1.59 crore. De De Pyaar De 2 is a romantic comedy directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. It is produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films. The film continues the story of Ashish Mehra (Ajay Devgn) and his younger girlfriend Ayesha Khurana (Rakul Preet Singh). In this installment, Ashish decides to meet Ayesha's family to get their approval, leading to a comedic conflict with her father, played by R. Madhavan. The original 2019 film, De De Pyaar De, was directed by Akiv Ali and also starred Tabu alongside Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. It was a commercial success, grossing over ₹143 crore worldwide. The sequel has received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Reviewers have praised the performances of the lead cast, particularly the face-off between Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan. The film has been described as a breezy and enjoyable take on modern relationships, with a good dose of humor. Some critics, however, found the story to be stretched at times. The direction by Anshul Sharma and the writing by Luv Ranjan have been noted for attempting to explore themes of ageism, patriarchy, and family dynamics within a comedic framework. De De Pyaar De vs De De Pyaar De 2 Opening Weekend Comparison: Ajay Devgn-Starrer Sequel Trails Behind Original

Mumbai, November 18 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's latest romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2 has wrapped up its first weekend with a decent performance, earning around 35 crores net collection. But the sequel has fallen short of the mark set by the original film. The Anshul Sharma's directorial managed to cross the 30 crore mark due to decent growth over the weekend after an average opening. In comparison, the new instalment has fallen short of the original film's opening weekend collection, which had registered approximately 38.50 crore net in its first three days. While the film managed to stay steady after a modest opening day, the growth over the weekend wasn't strong enough to surpass the expectations set by its predecessor. The 2019 release benefited from fresher appeal and strong audience word of mouth, whereas the sequel might be dealing with franchise fatigue as well as reluctant promotion. Despite the performance gap, De De Pyaar De 2 still has a chance to pick up momentum in the coming weekdays. Strong hold in key metros and sustained audience interest in the rom-com genre could help the film achieve respectable numbers in the long run. However, at this stage, the comparison clearly favours the first film, and all eyes are now on how well the sequel can maintain its pace to stay in contention for a solid lifetime total. De De Pyaar De 2 Day 3 Early Estimates: Ajay Devgn-starrer Ends Opening Weekend On Positive Note

Mumbai, November 16 - Ajay Devgn's much-awaited romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh and R. Madhavan, has wrapped up its opening weekend on a reasonably positive note at the domestic box office with good collection on Sunday. While the film didn't witness a bumper start, the steady upward trend has given it a decent platform as it steps into the crucial weekday phase. After opening to around 8.75 crore net, a slow beginning for a sequel backed by a major star presence, De De Pyaar De 2 managed to recover some lost ground on its second day with a 40% jump, earning around 12.25 crore net on Saturday. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The momentum continued on Sunday as well, with the film showcasing around 15% growth, bringing in an estimated 13.50-14 crore net. With this, the opening weekend total stands at a decent 35 crore net, positioning the movie on a fair note despite the shaky start. A better opening could have given a strong platform for the film to end the first weekend on a strong note, but still, it is a decent total given fatigue around franchise films. Now, all eyes shift to Monday "” a decisive day that will determine whether the film can translate its weekend trajectory into long-term success. For De De Pyaar De 2 to emerge as a clean commercial winner, it must maintain a strong hold during the working days and avoid major drops. The opening may not have met pre-release expectations, but the weekend trend definitely keeps the film alive in the race. A stable Monday could well mark the film's journey toward success "” but a sharp fall could make the run difficult. Stay tuned...

De De Pyaar De 2 Day 1 Early Estimates: Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh-starrer Opens On Expected Lines

Mumbai, November 14 - The much-awaited romantic comedy sequel De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan, has taken a decent start on the expected lines at the domestic box office. According to early estimates, DDPD2 has opened in the range of 8-9 crores net collection, which is very much in line with pre-release expectations. A double-digit start for the film would have been ideal, but not so good pre-sales indicated that it would require extraordinary word of mouth to reach there, which didn't happen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The movie was lacking the buzz which is required for a solid opening; however, the makers failed to maintain it after the well-received trailer. Given the sequel tag, the opening of DDPD2 is below par, as the first film opened to over 10 crores net in 2019. As said, the opening is still not something which can be called bad, and has comfortably beaten the opening of Ajay Devgn's last movie, Son of Sardaar 2 (7.25 crores net). The film has a chance to bounce back strongly on Saturday and Sunday, especially with hardly any competition at the moment. The weekend collection of DDPD2 will aim to reach around 30 crores net, which is, even though not a good total, but will be respectable. As always, the film's fate will be known by Monday, as it may emerge as a decent success if the film manages to hold well during working days. Stay tuned...
