Avatar Fire and Ash Review: Early Reactions To James Cameron's Epic Sci-Fi Saga Drops Online

Los Angeles, December 3 - James Cameron returns with the third chapter of his long-running epic sci-fi Avatar franchise, and it seems the maverick director has delivered another visual masterpiece. Avatar: Fire and Ash had its worldwide premiere yesterday, and the early critics' reviews, as usual, are highly positive. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Avatar 3 is scheduled to release on December 29, and ahead of it, the critics have seen it and are calling the film an ultimate cinematic spectacle that pushes visuals and emotion to new heights. Some of the journalists are saying that Fire & Ash is the best of the three yet, and something that reminds everyone why movie theatres are built for. The film brings back the original cast, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet, among others, alongside Oona Chaplin, who plays Varang, the Na'vi leader of the volcano-dwelling Mangkwan clan. Cameron said in an earlier interview that "Varang is the leader of a people who have gone through an incredible hardship. She's hardened by that. She will do anything for them, even things that we would consider to be evil. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) #AvatarFireAndAsh: 3 films in, James Cameron still has the sauce, making the epic spectacular feel emotionally impactful. A glorious saga. Bold, brilliant & awesome in every way, this is what movie theaters were built for. Payakan is still my fave, but Varang is the MVP. pic.twitter.com/zs1BjCTYmZ— Courtney Howard (@Lulamaybelle) December 2, 2025 While it struggles to juggle all its characters & feels repetitious, #AvatarFireAndAsh is strongest when it"™s interrogating faith in the face of grief. I adored it whenever it"™s focused on the conflict with the Ash People. Goes w/out saying it"™s visually superb. pic.twitter.com/NMBbfKCgJd— adam patla (@apat10) December 2, 2025 #AvatarFireAndAsh is a glorious war film. Cameron tests fate vs faith on the biggest & most emotional scale possible. This really is every "pro" of every film so far - feeling like the 3rd act of the franchise. Technically (obviously) magnificent. Just a generational blockbuster. pic.twitter.com/MQE3VnqV0t— Aryan P (@aryanp_000) December 2, 2025 (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) #AvatarFireAndAsh James Cameron once again deliver a remarkable visual feast. James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash Official Runtime Revealed: This Is Not What Everyone Thought

Los Angeles, November 12 - James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water is among the longest films ever, with a theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 12 minutes. Well, the maverick filmmaker seems to be in no mood to make shorter films anymore, as his next is even longer. The third Avatar instalment - Avatar: Fire And Ash was going to be longer than The Way of Water, as confirmed by the director himself in an earlier interview. While he didn't reveal the exact runtime back then, Cameron confirmed in an interview with Empire magazine that the next film will be a bit longer. With little over a month to go before the release, the film's official runtime has been revealed, and it is 3 hours and 15 minutes (195 minutes), as listed in AMC theatre chains. The Avatar films are anyway longer than most of the Hollywood titles, as the first film of the franchise, released in 2009, was 2 hours and 58 minutes long and is the highest-grossing film in the history of the worldwide box office, while The Way of Water holds the record for the third biggest grosser ever. One can't expect less when it comes to Avatar movies, and unsurprisingly, the expectations are high from Fire And Ash, which debuts in cinemas worldwide on December 19. Cameron had hyped the movie by calling it better than the first two films, and it would be much higher in action. The movie stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet reprise their roles from previous films alongside Oona Chaplin, in prominent roles. There are, at least, two more films in the franchise after Fire And Ash - both scheduled to hit the screens in December 2029 and December 2031, respectively. Stay tuned...

James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water' First Reviews Are Out Online

Los Angeles, December 7 - James Cameron's sci-fi Avatar: The Way of Water is giving all indications to become the next big thing in the world of cinema. The sequel to Cameron's 2009 movie "Avatar" is scheduled to hit screens on December 16 and it is expected to create the same magic its predecessor did nearly 13 years ago.## The movie has had its world premiere last night and the early reviews are calling it phenomenal and better than the first part which grossed more than $2.90 billion worldwide and is the highest-grossing movie of all time. If the early critics' reviews are anything to go by, "Avatar 2" is by far the best movie in many many years despite being more than 3 hours long.## Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water tells the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. It stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet, among others in key roles.## Have a look at some of the reviews of Avatar 2 - ## This is James Cameron leaning right into that Cameron playbook. There are Titanic vibes, True Lies vibes, Abyss vibes, Terminator 2 vibes - it is Cameron in top form, matching tremendous visuals w/ a VERY entertaining & emotional story that leaves you wanting more. LOVED! pic.twitter.com/Dz1FL6a2It— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) December 6, 2022 ## James Cameron's #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a monumental filmmaking achievement striking a great balance between technical & emotional. The 48fps 3D experience features some of the most jaw-dropping immersion I"™ve ever seen. Felt like a kid again watching T2 for 1st time. Astounding. pic.twitter.com/cfiMADJzU4— Kevin McCarthy (@KevinMcCarthyTV) December 6, 2022 ## Avatar: The Way of Water, being more than 3 hours long, is both fulfilling and indulgent. It still ends wanting you to know a third is coming.Constantly a visual feast, creative plays with frame rate, and never boring despite. Overall, I liked it. pic.twitter.com/0Wxxc8ZC9L— BD (@BrandonDavisBD) December 6, 2022 ## As someone who LIKED -- but didn't LOVE -- the first AVATAR, let me tell you:AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER blew me away.Vastly superior in visuals, story telling and performances, the sequel left my jaw on the ground for the entire runtime.James Cameron is the GOD of sequels. pic.twitter.com/1cw6C94O4f— Jake Hamilton (@JakesTakes) December 6, 2022 ## Avatar: The Way of Water once again teaches us to respect animals & the environment, but it's also all about family & our bond with one another. Certain moments seem drawn out purposefully to enhance the eye candy (I wasn't complaining). It's a must watch in 3D IMAX! #Avatar pic.twitter.com/qzPCpZ8I7y— Tessa Smith - Mama's Geeky (@MamasGeeky) December 6, 2022 ## AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is breathtakingly beautiful with the most incredible VFX I have ever seen (I saw it in 3D); the story itself is weaker than the first and feels drawn out at 3 hours & 10 minutes, but it"™s always great to look at & the last hour is amazing. #Avatar pic.twitter.com/8dEhtvRb4P— Scott Mantz (@MovieMantz) December 6, 2022 ## James Cameron once again shows filmmakers how it"™s done. I"™ve said it a thousand times. Never doubt him. AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is how you do epic blockbuster-ing. Emotional, visceral, and as big as movies get. @officialavatar— Josh Horowitz (@joshuahorowitz) December 6, 2022 ## Should we be surprised? Probably not - the man doesn't half-arse anything, as almost everyone I spoke to at the premiere mentioned! Standouts are Stephen Lang's return and the brilliant young cast. It won't be for everyone (and I personally have a huge aversion to "baby girl" 😖)— Tori Brazier (@dinotaur) December 7, 2022 ## #Avatar2 // #AvatarTheWayOfWater is better than its predecessor in that there"™s more going on with the story and characters and its ASTOUNDING technological advancements. Great escapism with enriching sentiments.— Courtney Howard (@Lulamaybelle) December 6, 2022 ## I was, uh, not exactly champing at the bit for an Avatar 2 (even if "œJames Cameron + wet" tends to work out pretty well). now I can"™t *wait* to see Avatar 3. that"™s basically all I wanted out of this and it delivered in a big way.— david ehrlich (@davidehrlich) December 6, 2022 ## Unsurprisingly, #AvatarTheWayOfWater is a visual masterpiece with rich use of 3D and breathtaking vistas. It does suffer from a thin story and too many characters to juggle, yet James Cameron pulls it together for an extraordinary final act full of emotion and thrilling action. pic.twitter.com/opr6CRyOwk— Ian Sandwell (@ian_sandwell) December 6, 2022 ## Stay tuned...

Avatar: The Way of Water Tracking For $170 Million Opening In North America

Los Angeles, November 26 - The long-awaited sequel to James Cameron's "Avatar" - Avatar: The Way of Water is set for more than the double opening of the first film at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sci-fi epic is tracking at least $150 million - $170 million in the opening weekend in North America. These are conservative estimates and may go higher. The first "Avatar" movie, released in 2009, opened to $77 million and later enjoyed extraordinary legs to project a $785 million lifetime total (re-release included).## One of the reasons for the conservative opening weekend projections of "Avatar: The Way of Water" is that it is 30 minutes longer than the first movie with a runtime of 3 hours and 10 minutes, meaning the sequel will have fewer showtimes per day.## "Avatar 2" is not the only Hollywood movie with longer runtime. The second and third highest-grossing movies of all time, "Avengers: Endgame" ($2.79 billion) and Cameron's "Titanic" ($2.2 billion) are more than 3 hours long. As reported earlier, "Avatar 2" is eyeing a minimum $2 billion worldwide gross collection in its lifetime run. ## Produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, and distributed by Disney, "Avatar 2" stars Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, and Stephen Lang, among others in key roles. The movie is scheduled to release on December 16 in over 100 languages worldwide in multiple formats.## Stay tuned...

James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Business Getting Hot In India?

Mumbai, October 31 - James Cameron's highly-anticipated sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water is getting ready for its release in December this year. Coming as a sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time at the box office, the expectations are no less from "Avatar 2". ## The budget of "Avatar 2" is approx. $250 million which is almost similar to the first "Avatar" movie, released in 2009. In India, there is huge excitement among fans regarding the movie and this is making Disney go high in the business for the Indian market. ## According to the reports, "Avatar 2" is being quoted at Rs. 100 crores in Telugu states which is on par with top tier heros' movie business. It is said that the buyers are in dilemma whether these prices will work for them or not. ## Not only just Telugu states but the same kind of prices are also being asked for other industries too where astronomical figures are being quoted. While it may sound unheard, it has been reported that in Kerala, the business has been valued at Rs. 50 crores.## "Avatar 2" stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver in pivotal roles along with Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh as new addition to the cast. It will release on 16th December 2022 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.## Stay tuned...

'Avatar: The Way of Water' Set To Be Over 3 Hours Long

Los Angeles, July 5 - There is a huge curiosity and excitement among audiences worldwide about James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water", and why not, after all, it is the successor of the world's highest-grossing film of all time. ## "Avatar", which was released in 2009, shattered records upon its release and stormed $2.84 billion in its initial box office run. The record was broken by "Avengers Endgame", however, it reclaimed the top position after a 2021 re-release in China with $2.89 billion and is set to add more to that total when it returns to cinemas in September this year. ## The first "Avatar" movie ran for 160 minutes (3 hours) but still felt like wanting more of it. The upcoming movie is set to take the audience on another long adventurous ride as the run of the movie is around 3 hours and 10 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. James Cameron, however, is not worried about these super-sized cinema runtimes and even blasted the trolls who criticize lengthy films. ## "I don't want anybody whining about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight hours", Cameron has said to Empire Magazine. "I can almost write this part of the review. 'The agonizingly long three-hour movie...' It's like, give me a fucking break. I've watched my kids sit and do five one-hour episodes in a row. Here's the big social paradigm shift that has to happen: it's okay to get up and go pee".## The movie is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. ## "Avatar 2" opens in cinemas on December 16 in over 100 languages worldwide. It stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, and Matt Gerald reprising their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role. New cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, and Vin Diesel.## Stay tuned...
