The legendary duo reunited after three decades, for what is one of the most-awaited Tamil films. The film was confirmed with Sundar C as the director. However, a week later, the director had backed out of this mega project. The filmmaker issued a statement stating that due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, he has decided to step up from this prestigious film. Thalaivar 173 marks a cinematic milestone, uniting two of Indian cinema's most iconic legends after decades of mutual admiration and friendship.
