Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Dream Girl 2' Tops 100 Crores Net Collection

Mumbai, September 13 - Actor Ayushmann Khurrana's social comedy-drama film Dream Girl 2 emerged a slipper success at the box office and entered the 100 crores net club in Hindi. ## Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film managed to withstand Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" and holdover film "Gadar 2" to make a surprise entry to the coveted 100 crores club. It topped the century mark on its 18th day as its current net collection stands at over 100.50 crores.## "Dream Girl 2" has become the 113th movie ever to top 100 crores net in Hindi. The last movie to hit this mark was "Jawan". DG2 is overall the 10th movie of 2023, including Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush" to achieve this milestone. It is currently the 111th all-time highest net-grosser movie in Hindi and will likely finish its box office run at around 105 crores net. ## The film has also become the 4th movie of Ayushmann to score 100 crores net or more, and his first since "Bala" (2019). 'Dream Girl 2' Advance Booking Status And Early Opening Day Box Office Prediction

Mumbai, August 22 - Ayushmann Khurran and Ananya Pandey-fronted comedy-drama film "Dream Girl 2" is getting ready to release on August 25. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Dream Girl 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Dream Girl. ## Being a sequel to a box office hit movie, Dream Girl 2 is carrying a lot of expectations as far as the box office numbers are concerned. The good thing about the movie is that there is awareness among moviegoers due to its successful history and unique promotion strategy. ## The movie has been able to fetch decent advance sales so far which is encouraging considering the sold competition from the holdover movies "Gadar 2" and "OMG 2". As of 8 PM on August 22, the film has sold approx. 27K tickets worth 80 lakhs for the opening day. Mumbai, August 16 - Director Raaj Shaandilyaa and actor Ayushmann Khurrana return with the sequel to their 2019's super hit comedy-drama film "Dream Girl". Ananya Panday is the female lead this time, replacing Nushrat Bharucha from the original movie. ## "Dream Girl 2" is scheduled to release on August 25 and this is the best bet for Ayushmann Khurrana as far as the box office prospects are concerned. Meanwhile, the movie has been certified with a "U/A" certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes. (133 minutes). ## The original movie's runtime was almost similar to its predecessor with 132 minutes (2 hours and 12 minutes) while it also got a "U/A" certificate from the censor board. The video has a fun take on Bollywood's current state where most of the films are not working. ## Along with the film's announcement, the makers also revealed the star cast which includes Ananya Panday in the female lead role, along with actors like Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles. The first instalment of the film starred Nushratt Bharuccha opposite Ayushmann. The movie is loaded with humour just like the first part.
