Box Office: Telugu Film 'Pelli SandaD' Surprises At The BO With Clean Hit Status
Hyderabad, October 24 - Telugu musical romantic comedy film, "Pelli SandaD" has surprised one and all at the box office. Despite getting bad reviews from critics and audiences, the movie has earned a clean Hit status in Telugu. It reported house full shows at some places of Hyderabad in the opening weekend. ## Directed by Gowri Ronanki, the movie has earned approx Rs. 7.80 crores net in Telugu. In the first five days, Pelli SandaD grossed approx Rs. 7.3 crores in India including AP/TG share of Rs. 4.41 crores. The movie cost between 5-7 crores and it turned out to be a profitable venture for the makers. ## It is a sequel to a 1996 film of the same name. The film marks the acting debut of Raghavendra Rao who directed the previous film. The movie tells the story of Vashishtha (Roshann) who falls in love with Sahasra (Sree Leela) at his cousin's wedding. However, things started happening when Sahasra father (Prakash Raj) knows about their relationship, he apposes and fixed her wedding with her cousin Chintoo (Vennela Kishore). ## The movie, however, received criticism for the story, screenplay, and Raghavendra Rao's acting. The music and performance from the leading pair are very well received by the audience. It was released on October 15 on the occasion of Dussehra.
