Shah Rukh Khan's King To Not Release On Gandhi Jayanti 2026? Possible New Date Revealed

Mumbai, August 27 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in director Rajkumar Hirani's comedy drama, Dunki, in December 2023. Since then, he has been working on his next, which is an action thriller King, with his Pathaan director Siddharth Anand. King went on floors in June this year, but an unfortunate shoulder injury to Shah Rukh Khan, which he sustained while filming for an action sequence, has proved to be a roadblock. King Khan was advised to rest for a couple of months before he resumes filming, and that has reportedly altered the release plans. According to the report by Mid-day, King, which was reportedly eying the Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release, has now been pushed back due to a delay in the shoot. "Shah Rukh needs to rest it out for weeks before he can face the camera again. It is an action-heavy film, so the team doesn’t want to take a chance with his health", says the report. While the official release date has not been announced yet, a recent report by peepingmoon.com suggested that Shah Rukh Khan and director Anand are eyeing Christmas 2026 as the possible theatrical release date. The chances have become bright for this date after the postponement of Vicky Kaushal's ambitious Mahavatar. As per the reports, Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma have started shooting for the film in Mehboob Studio, and the rest of the cast will join them soon. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is easily among the most anticipated Indian movies. Anil Kapoor Joins Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's 'King'

Mumbai, May 13 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's hugely anticipated action thriller King is getting bigger with each passing day, with its casting. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who reunites with King Khan after the mega blockbuster Pathaan (2023). ## Recently, it was reported that Arshad Warsi joined the cast of King, and now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, veteran Anil Kapoor has also joined the film. He will reportedly play the role of SRK's mentor. "Shah Rukh Khan plays an assassin in King, Anil Kapoor will be seen as his handler", says the report.## "There were multiple actors considered for the part, but the team amicably feels that Anil Kapoor suits the role to the T. The project has been making tremendous noise on social media for the last few days due to various reasons and now, the filmmaker has responded to those rumours. ## Recently, a report emerged that Deepika Padukone will reunite with Anand and SRK to play an extended cameo role. While the filmmaker didn't mention the report, he seemingly denied the casting of Deepika by calling it fake on Twitter/X. ## There was another rumour that the shooting of King would be delayed by a couple of months, and again, Anand debunked it and called it false. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan 2' Script Locked; Shooting Details Revealed

Mumbai, February 25 - After going through a dry period of nearly 5 years, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a roaring comeback with Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Pathaan in 2023. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film emerged as a massive blockbuster, grossing over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Pathaan is a part of YRF's Spy Universe and its mega-success almost confirmed the sequel. A few months after the movie's release in January 2023, it was reported that producer Aditya Chopra was working on the script of Pathaan 2. Now, a new update has emerged regarding the same. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Aditya Chopra has locked the script of the sequel which is designed not only to carry forward Pathaan's story but also to lay the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming instalments of YRF's Spy Universe. It was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long.## The script, written by Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala with Chopra, promises to surpass the first film in both scale and intensity. Aditya has also taken inputs from SRK for the Pathaan 2 script and the superstar is said to be super impressed with the way the sequel is heading. ## The director for the same is not locked yet. Reports suggest that Anand would not return to direct the sequel. There have been rumours that Ayan Mukerji, who is currently directing YRF's War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, might take on the directorial duty of Pathaan 2 as well, but nothing has been confirmed yet. ## The shoot of Pathaan 2 will commence early next year after SRK completes filming of the action thriller King, to be directed by Sidharth Anand. Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations.
