Box Office: Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' Struggles To Hit 50 Crore Net Collection

Mumbai, May 8 - It has been a struggling ride for Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's sports biopic Maidaan at the box office. Despite the advantage of the Eid holidays, the movie opened to a poor collection and never bounced back despite the open run. ## Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan has topped the 50 crore net mark on its 29th day which is no longer a milestone. Ideally, the current total of Maidaan should have been its opening weekend collection given the Eid holidays but that is a gone case. ## Eid has always been a lucrative festival for Bollywood regarding the box office as Salman Khan films have historically done well on this particular festival, however, 2024 proved different as both big releases, Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan bombed without even putting up a fight. ## With the bombing of Maidaan and BMCM along with other films also not doing well, the month of April has been a nightmare for theatres with not much return. Mumbai, March 27 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's long-awaited sports biopic Maidaan is finally coming to the big screens this Eid. Mumbai, July 6 - The second installment of the anthology film "Lust Stories" has opened in the top 10 most-watched non-English films on Netflix. "Lust Stories 2" is consisting of four short film segments directed by R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and Sujoy Ghosh. ## The film premiered on June 29 and debuted at number 4 with 4.2 million views. The film, which is 2 hours and 13 minutes long, scored 9.3 million viewing hours in its opening weekend. The anthology received a mixed response from critics and digital audiences. ## "Lust Stories 2" is trending at the number in India as well as in Mauritius, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and UAE while also trending in the top 10 in Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Singapore on Netflix.## The first segment - "Made For Each Other" of the anthology is directed by R. Mumbai, April 1 - Ajay Devgn-fronted sports biopic Maidaan is gearing up for its worldwide release on June 23rd in multiple languages. Directed by Amit Sharma, the film is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962). The long-awaited biographical sports drama film is getting difficulties in its release which has led to multiple delays over the last year or so.
