Andrade El Idolo Expected To Return To WWE For Monday Night's Day 1 Special Edition Of RAW
New York, January 1 - Andrade El Idolo was a subject of speculation leading up to his AEW Worlds End match against Miro on Saturday. Rumors circulated that the former WWE NXT Champion was parting ways with the company, as his contract was set to expire at the beginning of 2024. AEW CEO Tony Khan has now confirmed that Andrade is unlikely to renew his contract with the company.## During Saturday's media scrum, Khan stated, "Andrade El Idolo's contract is expiring at the end of the year." Khan expressed satisfaction with Andrade's performance, both in his final match against Miro and in the AEW Continental Classic, where Andrade competed in the Blue League and narrowly missed the block finals by a few points.## Khan had hoped to negotiate a new deal with Andrade and had plans to position the wrestler prominently within AEW. Despite efforts, an agreement between the two parties could not be reached. Khan even suggested the possibility of Andrade returning to his former home promotion, CMLL.
