Rajkummar Rao and Vaani Kapoor To Headline Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha's Small Town Love Story

Mumbai, July 22 - Acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is set to produce a small-town love story film starring Rajkummar Rao and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles under his production banner Benaras Media Works, as per the reports.## The movie, tentatively titled "Bachpan Ka Pyaar", will be directed by Apurva Dhar Badgaiyann, who previously helmed the Jitendra Kumar-starrer romantic comedy "Chaman Bahaar" (2020). The shoot of the movie is expected to begin next month for 2024 release in cinemas.## The upcoming movie marks the third collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Anubhav Sinha after "Bheed" and the yet-be-released anthology film "Be Positive" while it is the first movie of Vaani Kapoor with the filmmaker as well as with Rao. ## Rajkummar Rao, meanwhile, will next be seen in the Netflix series "Guns & Gulaabs" which also stars Dulquer Salmaan and others. The actor also has "Sri", "Mr. And Mrs. Mahi" and "Stree 2" under the works. Anubhav Sinha's 'Bheed' Projected To Take A Dull Start At The Box Office

Mumbai, March 23 - Director Anubhav Sinha's drama film Bheed seems to be going nowhere with its pre-sales and chances for its dull start at the box office looming large. ## Starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, "Bheed" is set during the events of the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown in India. It tells the story of how several characters in the film deal with the covid-19 lockdown and migrate to a place they feel safe. ## The movie did hit by controversy, however, despite the desperate attempt, it failed to generate any sort of buzz which was clearly visible in the advance booking which finished below 10 lac gross for the opening day. ## Given the fact that there was hardly any awareness among the moviegoers and dull response in the pre-booking, "Bheed" was always going to struggle at the box office and that's what happened with it with the opening of around 30 lacs. Sinha's last directorial, "Anek" (2022) too bombed at the box office and the prospects are not looking promising for his upcoming film either. ## The lack of curiosity for "Bheed" is set to benefit Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's "Tu Jhoothi Mein Makkaar" for another week before Ajay Devgn's "Bholaa" arrives on March 30. There is Keanu Reeves' "John Wick 4" this weekend but that will mainly acquire the premium screens. Ayushmann Khurran's 'Anek' Tops 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' To Emerge Most-Watched Indian Movie Last Week On Netflix

Mumbai, July 6 - Actor Ayushmann Khurrana's action thriller Anek was the most-watched Indian movie worldwide in the last week on Netflix. The Anubhav Sinha-directed film was made available on Netflix on June 26 after a disappointing box office run. ## "Anek" scored 4.9 million hours watched in the week (June 27 - July 3), and was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide. It was also trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India and Bangladesh. ## Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continued to remain in the top 10 most-watched non-English films worldwide for the 3rd consecutive week. It scored 3.69 million viewing hours last week and was the second most-watched Indian title and 3rd overall on Netflix. BB2 has overall scored 20.1 million watched hours in 17 days. ## On the other hand, SS Rajamouli's epic box office blockbuster is still grabbing attention on the streamer and remained in the top 10 for the 7th consecutive week. In its 7th week on Netflix, it generated 3.5 million viewing hours, which is higher than its 6th week viewing hours of 2.92 million. A Biopic Of Freedom Fighter Usha Mehta, 'Freedom Radio' Is Announced

Mumbai, May 20 - Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has joined hands with Ketan Mehta ("Manjhi "“ The Mountain Man") to announce the biopic of freedom fighter and Gandhian, Usha Mehta. The movie, titled "Freedom Radio", will be produced by Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks with Mehta who will also be directing it.## Usha Mehta was a Gandhian and freedom fighter who ran an underground pirate radio called Congress Radio during the Quit India Movement and gave tough time to the British Government. Post-Independence, Usha Mehta was conferred with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in India.## In a media statement about the biopic, Ketan Mehta said, "Developing this story has been pure joy. Sifting through her personal diaries, and delving into my own memories have been a crucial part of my work. Mumbai, Dec 23 (IANS) Ayushmann Khurrana, who was recently seen in 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui', feels that cinema can bring about a change in society and that he has tried to contribute towards the cause of inclusivity and equality through his work in films. ## Talking about the purpose of cinema, the actor mentions, "I have always believed that cinema can serve a purpose to better society and I hope that such films have done their bit to affect change.
