Punjabi Superstar Diljit Dosanjh Joins Sunny Deol In 'Border 2'

Mumbai, August 1 - The sequel to 1997's war epic Border was recently announced with Sunny Deol returning to reprise his role as MVC, Lieutenant Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri. Kesari director Anurag Singh has been attached to direct Border 2 which will be a joint production by T-Series and JP Films.## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has joined Sunny Deol in this highly-anticipated film. Dosanjh is fresh from the blockbuster film Jatt and Juliet 3 which has become the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi film of all time at the worldwide box office.## Dosanjh's character details in Border 2 are currently kept under wraps but the Punjabi singer-actor is said to be excited to play another real-life role after portraying renowned Punjabi musician, Amar Singh Chamkila in Imtiaz Ali's recently released Netflix movie of the same name.## Interestingly, Diljit Dosanjh has had a long relationship with director Anurag Singh. The duo has worked together in as many as five Punjabi films such as Jatt & Juliet, Jatt and Juliet 2, Disco Singh, Punjab 1984, and Super Singh between 2012 and 2017. In July 2023, Maddock Films officially confirmed the movie and now, there is an update on the same. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, national crush Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the female lead in Vampires of Vijay Nagar which will be directed by Aditya Satpodar whose directorial, Munjya is currently playing in theatres at the back of Superhit box office collection. ## Previously, there were rumours that Samantha Ruth Prabhu would play the female lead but there was no reliable update on the same. Mumbai, November 6 - Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, after a few flops over the last couple of years, finally scored a well-deserved box office success in the form of Dream Girl 2. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the comedy-drama is the spiritual sequel to the 2019 film "Dream Girl". ## "Dream Girl 2" was released on October 25 this year amid some expectations of being the successor of a well-received critical and commercial film. There were still some doubts over the potential of the movie given the fact that Ayushmann was coming after 6 non-hits, plus, it released amid the box office juggernaut of "Gadar 2" and "OMG 2". ## Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, "Dream Girl 2" received mixed to positive reception from critics and audiences but the strong franchise value helped it to score the biggest opening for Ayushmann with 10.69 crores net. Mumbai, September 13 - Actor Ayushmann Khurrana's social comedy-drama film Dream Girl 2 emerged a slipper success at the box office and entered the 100 crores net club in Hindi. ## Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film managed to withstand Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" and holdover film "Gadar 2" to make a surprise entry to the coveted 100 crores club. It topped the century mark on its 18th day as its current net collection stands at over 100.50 crores.## "Dream Girl 2" has become the 113th movie ever to top 100 crores net in Hindi. The last movie to hit this mark was "Jawan". DG2 is overall the 10th movie of 2023, including Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush" to achieve this milestone.
