Andhadhun Director Sriram Raghavan To Make His OTT Debut Based On True Shocking Event

Director Sriram Raghavan, who is known for making films with hard-hitting themes such as Andhadhun, Badlapur, and others, is all set to make his digital debut with a series based on one of India's unforgettable and horrifying incidents that took place in 1999 in the forms of Hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, commonly known as IC 814. (according to LetsOTT) ## The series will narrate the hijacking of the Indian Airlines Flight AC-814 by Pakistan based terrorist group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen in 1999. The incident forced India to release three Islamist terrorists in return for the safety of 176 passengers and crew of the flight before five masked terrorists fatally stabbed one and wounded several others. ## Raghavan and his team are said to have started researching the project and are talking to crew members and passengers who were on the flight for their source material. Raghavan is apparently planning to make it as a taut thriller and mount it next year. The OTT platform for the project is not decided yet. ## Talking about the incident, Indian Airlines Flight 814 was hijacked on December 24, 1999, when it was en route from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal to Delhi. The airbus was hijacked by five masked gunmen shortly after it entered the Indian airspace. The hijackers ordered the aircraft to be flown to a series of locations such as Amritsar, Lahore, and Dubai before they forced the aircraft to land in Kandahar, Afghanistan, which at the time was controlled by the Taliban. ## The Kandahar hijacking has been the subject of a few films in past. Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan starrer 2010 Malayalam film Kandahar, Nagarjuna's Gaganam, and Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu starrer Zameen (2003) were loosely based on this incident. ## Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan was supposed to shoot for Ekkis with Varun Dhawan last year. However, the film could not go on floors because of the covid-19 pandemic. The film which is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Kheterpal is now said to go on floors in September. ## Stay tuned...

Bipasha Basu applauds the HUL decision of removing 'Fair' from Fair & Lovely, says her skin color didn't define her

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has applauded Hindustan Unilever (HUL) for dropping the word 'Fair' from its Fair & Lovely beauty product. The actress on Friday took to her Instagram handle and spoke how her skin color has been used to describe her since childhood. ## The 41-year old actress who has worked in many Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and English films, recalled her journey as an actress in the entertainment industry. She said that her skin color was always a topic of discussion despite the fact that she has been a successful film actor. ## Bipasha began her long Instagram post by saying that even as a child, her distant relatives discussed her 'dusky' complexion. She wrote, "From the time I was growing up I heard this always, "Bonnie is darker than Soni. She is little dusky na?“Even though my mother is a dusky beauty and I look a lot like her. I never knew why that would be a discussion by distant relatives when I was a kid."## Even when she won the supermodel contest, some of the newspapers referred her 'dusky girl from Kolkata' which again wondered her that adjective 'Dusky' was used to describe her. "Soon at 15/ 16 I started modelling and then I won the supermodel contest ... all newspapers read ... dusky girl from Kolkata is the winner. I wondered again why Dusky is my first adjective ??? Then I went to New York and Paris to work as a model and I realized my skin color was exotic there and I got more work and attention because of it," she added. ## Bipasha revealed that when she made her Bollywood debut in 2001 with Ajnabee, she was accepted and loved by many but she was still labeled as the 'dusky girl'. "Once I came back into India and film offers started... and finally I did my first film and from an absolute Ajnabee to Hindi film industry ...I suddenly was accepted and loved. But the adjective stayed which I started liking and loving by then.DUSKY girl wows the audiences in her debut film".## She further said, "In most of my articles for all the work I did, my duskiness seemed to be the main discussion.. it attributed to my sex appeal apparently. And sexy in Bollywood started getting accepted widely. There was a strong mindset of Beauty and how an actress should look and behave. Well you see I was confident and proud of who I was from childhood. My skin colour didn’t define me ... even though I love it and wouldn’t want it to be any different ever."## View this post on Instagram From the time I was growing up I heard this always,”Bonnie is darker than Soni. She is little dusky na?“Even though my mother is a dusky beauty and I look a lot like her.I never knew why that would be a discussion by distant relatives when I was a kid. Many skin care endorsements with loads of money was offered to me in the last 18 years ( some were very tempting)... but I stuck to my principle always. All this needs to stop. This wrong dream that we are selling ... that only fair is lovely and beautiful when the majority of the country is brown skinned. It’s a deep rooted stigma. It’s a mammoth step from the brand... and other brands should follow in the same footsteps soon🙏 A post shared by bipashabasusinghgrover (@bipashabasu) on Jun 25, 2020 at 8:32pm PDT ## She concluded her post by saying "Many skin care endorsements with loads of money was offered to me in the last 18 years ( some were very tempting)... but I stuck to my principle always".## "All this needs to stop. The man who captured Virat-Anushka's fairytale wedding

Mumbai, April 14 (IANS) Remember December 2017, when Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma tied the knot in an exclusive ceremony at Italy's breathtaking Borgo Finocchieto? Far away from paparazzi, the two exchanged garlands in a private affair and then had revealed the news on social media with a picture of the ceremony. Till date, their wedding videos make the fans ask for more.## The fairytale touch to Virushka's wedding nuptials was given by Vishal Punjabi, filmmaker and founder of the production company, The Wedding Filmer. He's the one who shot Virat and Anushka's destination wedding along with his team. It's been almost three years since he filmed the festivities, and he naturally considers it a career milestone.## "I didn't know it was their wedding until I got there!" Vishal told IANS, adding: "I was proud of the fact that they picked me for their wedding. It was a private affair and we respected their privacy as we wanted them to freely live their special moment. It was not that difficult to shoot their wedding. In fact, they made us so feel comfortable that I felt I was a part of their celebrations. Once the wedding was done, I realized that I had finally accomplished something big. I had covered one of the biggest and beautiful weddings in the world. Virat and Anushka taught me the difference between hope and expectation."## To make their marriage video special, Vishal decided to give it a musical effect. Instead of depending on Bollywood Shaadi songs, Vishal tried something original.## The Sufi song "Peer vi tu" was created for Virushka's wedding video. It was sung by Harshadeep Kaur and Mohan Kannan.## "Why go for Bollywood when one can create something original? It's so boring to use the same songs at almost every wedding. Every bride should feel special on her special day. So, I thought it was important to come up with original tracks," Vishal emphasized.## Apart from Virat-Anushka, Vishal has also captured the moments of Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover's weddings.## Vishal also spoke about how the wedding industry has faced the brunt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.## "The wedding industry has taken a huge hit. Many wedding assignments that I was really excited about and worked really hard on have been pushed and there is nothing that can be done about it. At this time, the best you can do is help those around you, accept what is happening and stay positive by turning this around to improve your life and the lives of those you love. I am worried what if people start marrying online," he quipped.## Vishal is all set to come up with the streaming service Wedflix for people to watch wedding content directly at their homes.## "We coined the term Wedflix to encourage people to stay at home and watch their wedding films. A lot of couples we've filmed for -- who have children now or who are stuck at home with their families -- end up watching their wedding videos and relive their memories again.## "Your lehenga ain't gonna comfort you in times of distress. Your wedding film has the potential to remind you of why you got married in the first place. So, when life is going uphill, Wedflix and Chill," Vishal ends with a smart hard sell punchline for his trade.## Stay tuned...

Coronavirus scare: Stars, filmmakers spread awareness and warn against rumours

Mumbai, March 5 (IANS) Coronavirus is now a reality in India, with 29 cases confirmed all over the nation by the first half of Thursday. Stars and filmmakers across Bollywood and the southern film industry have united to spread awareness about the disease and stop panic on social media.## Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu shared a list of dos and don'ts on Instagram story. The list includes observing good personal hygiene, frequently washing hands with soap, covering one's mouth while sneezing and coughing, refraining from the consumption of raw or undercooked meat, refraining from traveling to farms, live animal markets or where animals are slaughtered.## Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has suggested avoiding handshake or hugging. He has insisted on traditional Indian ways of greeting like salaam and namaste. Sharing Salman's post on Instagram, actress Bipasha Basu wrote: "With Awareness and good hygiene we can fight anything. Well said @beingsalmankhan."## Not mentioning coronavirus directly, director Rohit Shetty has reposted nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar's post pertaining to "Common sense to deal with uncommon threats" on Instagram. The post offers tips like having amla daily, consumption of turmeric milk at night, hot water bath with neem leaves, washing hands before eating and refraining from shaking hands.## Veteran actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha took to Twitter to spread awareness through a series of tweets. In one tweet, he has appealed to all to stop rumor-mongering.## "From #SafdarjungHospital & to all other hospitals. The fear that has gripped the city/nation should be cleared out by the media who can play an important role by preventing outright negative & fake news. Rumour mongering must stop. Media can be positive & responsible in these fearful & stressful times. They can also be very helpful in keeping the matter calm & fruitful. #CaronaVirus"## Advising all to drink hot water in another tweet, he wrote: "This time, the Wuhan virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed at a temperature of 26-27 degrees. Therefore, drink more hot water. You can tell your friends and relatives to drink more hot water to prevent it. Go under the Sun. It has been cold recently, and drinking hot water is also very comfortable. It is not a cure and is good for the body. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink ice, remember!"## Director Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to sarcastically express: "If there are much lesser number of cases in India, it either means we are just plain lucky or that coronavirus doesn't like Indians much."## Director Anubhav Sinha also shared the same point as Ram Gopal Varma that the number of cases in India is very low and requested everyone not to panic.## He tweeted: "Influenza kills more people every year. We are panicking because we think this shit is new and there is no cure for it. But the truth is that the mortality rate is very low. So... #DontPanic #Corona BUT #TakeCare."## Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri tweeted: "A doctor told me that people who stay too much in central AC environment have a higher chance of catching Corona Virus than those who stay in an open and natural environment. By that logic, urban areas are more susceptible than villages."## For more and latest news about Bollywood and Tollywood, stay tuned with us.
