Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone get nostalgic as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani completes 7 years
One of the much loved romantic drama movies, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was released on this very day (May 31) in the year 2013. The film had a talented star cast with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead role while Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in supporting role. During a trip to Manali, he meets Nanina Talwar (Deepika Padukone) who is his former classmate. Both renew their friendship and become very close, and later, the story revolves around both of them. ## Upon the release of the film, it was a massive hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing movies of all-time. It was the second movie after 3 Idiots to cross 300 crores worldwide. Not only in India but also the film was very successful in the overseas market. It was also the tenth highest-grossing Bollywood film in overseas markets up until then.## The movie is directed by Ayan Mukerji and written by Ayan Mukerji and Hussain Dalal while it was produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar under the production banner Dharma Productions.
