Box Office: Pawan Kalyan's 'Gabbar Singh' Scores Record Opening For A Re-Release Indian Film

Hyderabad, September 3 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's blockbuster action drama Gabbar Singh was re-released on the occasion of his birthday yesterday and as expected, the movie scored the biggest opening for a re-release Indian movie at the worldwide box office. ## Gabbar Singh had previews on Sunday before a full-fledged release the next day. The film grossed approximately 6.25 crores in India on its opening day, including previews. This makes it the biggest re-release domestic opener, beating Mahesh Babu's Murari and Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli which grossed around 4.75 crores each. ## Overseas, Harish Shankar's directorial scored around 75 lahks, for a worldwide opening of 7+ crores. With this, it has also become the biggest worldwide Indian re-release opener, surpassing Murari and Businessmen which grossed around 5.25 crores each on the first day. ## With such a good start, one assumes the film would go on to score a big lifetime re-release collection but that's not the case here. South Indian films, especially Telugu re-releases tend to have a short life at the box office as these films are re-released as a mark of celebration rather than a genuine re-release, which means the collection after the first 2 days is reduced drastically. ## Gabbar Singh, meanwhile, was originally re-released in 2012 and emerged as a big blockbuster with a worldwide box office collection of over 100 crores. Prabhas' Film With Director Hanu Raghavapudi To Start Rolling In September 2024

Hyderabad, July 30 - There is no stopping Pan India superstar Prabhas who is gearing up for back-to-back shoots for his new films. The actor is currently basking on the mega-blockbuster success of Kalki 2898 AD which recently crossed 1000 crores worldwide gross.## It is known to everyone that Prabhas will be teaming up with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi and according to the latest Telugu media reports, the shoot for the yet-untitled film will commence in September this year. Mumbai, March 19 - Amazon Prime Video set to woo audiences around the world, craving for Indian content. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. Hyderabad, March 24 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's long-delayed action drama film Ustaad Bhagat Singh with director Harish Shankar is finally moving ahead. ## It was announced in September 2020 under the title of "Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh", but due to some issues, it was reportedly shelved. The duo of PSPK and Harish revived the project with the title "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" late last year. ## Now, as per the latest reports, the much-awaited film will commence filming on April 5 this year. It was reported that "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" is a remake of the Tamil title "Theri", however, director Harish Shankar recently revealed that it is a fresh story and not a remake. ## The movie will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and the music will be composed by Rockstar DSP. Hyderabad, February 5 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan has revealed that he did not get his full remuneration for "Gabbar Singh" which is one of his biggest-ever blockbusters. ## Directed by Harish Shankar, "Gabbar Singh" was the highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2022. The movie is a remake of the 2010 Bollywood film "Dabangg" which was itself a huge hit. "Gabbar Singh" set new benchmarks for commercial cinema. ## Despite turning out to be a hugely profitable venture for the makers, the superstar wasn't paid fully and not what he actually asked for.
