D54: Dhanush Teams Up With Director Vignesh Raja For His Next Film; Cast and Crew Details Revealed

Chennai, July 11 - National-award-winning actor Dhanush has kicked off his next film, tentatively called D54, with director Vignesh Raja, who is best known for his work in the superhit movie "Por Thozhil" (2023). ## The film, produced by Vels Film International, was announced on Thursday (July 10) with a traditional pooja ceremony attended by the main team, including Dhanush, producer Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, and director Vignesh Raja. ## The D54 is said to be a high-octane action entertainer, and the shoot for the same has also begun. The makers also released a poster which shows Dhanush standing in a cotton field being burnt down, with his head down. ## Cast and crew details of D54 ## Apart from Dhanush, the film will feature highly in-demand actress Mamitha Baiju in the female lead role alongside KS Ravi Kumar, Suraj Venjramoodu, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Chennai, Jan 11 (IANS) Well-known deemed university VELS on Tuesday honoured Tamil film actor Silambarasan with an honorary doctorate for excellence in cinema.## The doctorate was conferred on Silambarasan better known as 'Simbu' at the 11th convocation of the University, which was attended by a host of dignitaries including Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur, who witnessed the proceedings online.## Celebrated for his excellence in cinema, Silambarasan said that this was a trip down memory lane and that he relived his college days. VGP Chairman V.G. Santhosam and sportsperson T. Mariyappan were the others upon whom the honour was conferred.## Silambarasan said, "It is an honour to receive an honorary doctorate from such an esteemed institute in India... We understand the world through cinema and I'm grateful to have been part of the film industry that has offered me so much love and support. I thank everyone at VELS for the warm welcome. I felt like I relived my college days. I wish all the students the very best for their future and I'm happy that they are in such great hands".## The actor also went on to tweet about the event. Chennai, Dec 26 (IANS) The trailer of director Gautham Vasudev Menon's upcoming action thriller 'Joshua' has received over a million views in less than a day of being released on YouTube. ## The trailer of 'Joshua', which features actors Varun, Krishna and Raahei in the lead, was released by music director A.R. Rahman. ## Interestingly, the film does not have music by Rahman but by Karthik, who is known for his singing skills. Rahman, while releasing the trailer, said that he was glad to present the trailer of his dear friend Gautham Menon's 'Joshua'. ## The film, which is produced by Ishari K.
