Avatar: The Way of Water To Get The Widest Release For A Hollywood Movie In India

Mumbai, December 15 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water is all set for the record release at the Indian box office. The sequel to the highest-grossing movie of all time, "Avatar 2" releases on December 16 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages in multiple formats.## As per industry sources, "Avatar 2" will be released on over 4000 screens in India for all languages, which is the highest screen count for a Hollywood movie. The previous highest screen count for a Hollywood movie was "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which was released on 3250 screens across the country. ## The movie will have a record release in the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) with approx. 750 screens. The Telugu states are also leading the advance sales for "Avatar 2", which is set to take the biggest opening for a Hollywood movie there. ## As reported earlier, the Disney tentpole is tracking $550 million in the worldwide opening weekend, including $180 million in the domestic (North America) market. It will be eyeing $2 billion worldwide which is the minimum requirement for it to break even. ## The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, and Matt Gerald reprising their roles from the original film, and also includes new cast members Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Brendan Cowell.## Stay tuned...

'Avatar: The Way of Water' Pre-Sales Gains Momentum Ahead of The Big Release In India

Mumbai, December 13 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water is all set to explode at the Indian box office on December 16. The science-fiction epic has been one of the most-anticipated Hollywood films of the year and it can clearly be seen in the pre-sales booking. ## The advance booking of "Avatar 2" was opened a month before the release date and it was going at a steady pace, however, over the last 24 hours, the booking has picked up and has gained upward momentum. The movie has sold over 3.5 lakh tickets in all versions for the opening day (Dec. 16), and nearly 30% of tickets have been booked in the last 24 hours. ## The movie will be released in multiple languages, but it is the original English version which is having a maximum number of tickets booked. The 3D, 2D, IMAX 3D, and 4DX 3D of English version has sold approx. 1.9 lakh tickets worth approx. 7.50 crores gross so far for the opening day.## The Hindi 3D version has been able to sell approx. 44K tickets worth approx. 1.40 crores gross. The overall advance booking collection of "Avatar 2" for the opening day is approx. 11 crores gross (till December 13 afternoon). 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Set To Be Over 3 Hours Long

Los Angeles, July 5 - There is a huge curiosity and excitement among audiences worldwide about James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water", and why not, after all, it is the successor of the world's highest-grossing film of all time. ## "Avatar", which was released in 2009, shattered records upon its release and stormed $2.84 billion in its initial box office run. Los Angeles, April 28 - James Cameron's sci-fi epic, "Avatar 2" first glimpse was shown at CinemaCon 2022, during Disney's slate presentation. The attendees at CinemaCon were overjoyed to see the first tease/trailer of the world of Pandora. ## The title of "Avatar 2", which has officially been announced to debut in theaters on December 16 this year, is "Avatar - The Way of Water". "Avatar 2" is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. It will capture the story of Sully family, the trouble that follows them, and the battle they fight to stay alive.## The first teaser/trailer of the movie, which was screened in 3D for the CinemaCon audiences, will be attached with Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" in theaters from May 6. It will later release on YouTube, maybe a couple of days after the "Doctor Strange 2" release. ## Producer Jon Landau also reported (via THR) that the four sequels of "Avatar" will be about Jake and Nyteri's family - each a standalone film "together ever-greater connected epic saga. Producer Jon Landau Reveals A Major Plot Detail Of Avatar 2

Mumbai, December 9 - The sequel to the highest-grossing film of all-time "Avatar" is nearly upon us after almost 13 years. It has been a long wait for the fans to experience the next chapter of this sci-fi epic and the world of Pandora. ## A sequel to a blockbuster film doesn't often take too much time to get on the floors. However, in the case of "Avatar", a lot of time was down to writing not one but four scripts for the planned series of sequels up to Avatar 5. Producer Jon Landau told Total Film magazine as part of its huge 2022 preview that "The scripts are the blueprint from which we work". ## "So a large portion of our time was writing, with the challenge that each of those four scripts had to individually resolve itself in a story that concludes with a big emotional resolution – but when you look at them as a whole, the connected story arc of all four movies creates an even larger epic saga", he added. ## Meanwhile, the producer further revealed some of the first "Avatar 2" plot details. He revealed that Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are now parents. James Cameron, who returns as director, has specifically written the script of "Avatar 2" taking the Sully family at the center stage. ## "I think the story of Avatar 2, and the strength of the story, is what Jim [Cameron] always does in any of his movies: he writes in universal themes that are bigger than any one genre. And if you think about this, there's really no more universal theme than family. At the center of each of our sequels is the Sully family. What are the dynamics that parents go through to protect their family?" explains Landau. ## The Sullys' idyllic life is disrupted when the RDA mining operation returns to Pandora, forcing Jake to take the family to "what is perceived as a safe harbor" at the reef. "And when you get to the reef, there's a clan we call the Metkayina", continues Landau. "The Sullys are no longer in the environment that they know, the rainforest. They become the fish out of water.
