Gal Gadot's 'Death On The Nile' Opens To Number 1 At The Domestic Box Office

Los Angeles, February 13 - Gal Gadot-starrer murder mystery film "Death on the Nile", took an underwhelming start at the domestic box office with $5.1 million on Friday, followed by Jennifer Lopez-Owen Wilson romantic comedy "Marry Me" with $3 million at number 2. ## Disney and 20th Century Studios' "Death on the Nile", based on the famous Agatha Christie novel, is heading towards $12.7 million in its opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. The opening of the film, however, is only half as much as the opening day gross of its predecessor "Murder on the Orient Express" ($10.7 million) in 2017, which went on to score $102 million domestic gross. ## The Kenneth Branagh-directed cost $90 million in production, and Hollywood trade experts believe that the movie will find it tough to recover the production cost. The movie has faced several delays due to the covid-19 pandemic while the production of the film was greenlit shortly after the release of "Murder on the Orient Express". ## According to Variety, the box office fate of "Death on the Nile" may have seemed prewritten for quite some time now. Many of Disney's projects rooted in the Fox era have been perceived as disappointments, with films like "West Side Story", "The Last Duel" and "The King's Man" coming up short at the box office.## The film is the third screen adaptation of Christie's novel, following the 1978 film and an episode of the television series Agatha Christie's Poirot broadcast in 2004. Akshay Kumar is the only Indian to be included in the Forbes list of top 100 highest-paid celebrities

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has found himself only Indian to make a cut in the Forbes list of the top 100 highest-paid celebrities on the year 2020. With estimated pre-tax earnings of USD 48.5 million (approx Rs 366 crore) from June 2019 to May 2020, Akshay Kumar found himself at the 52nd position. ## American media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner topped the list with estimated earnings of USD 590 million (Rs 4,453 crore) in the same period. ## Talking about Akshay Kumar, he, however, slipped 19 positions from his last year's ranking of 33 in the top 100 celebrity list. Last year his earnings were USD 65 million. Mumbai, April 19 (IANS) Indian superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined Lady Gaga's star-studded "One World: Together at Home" to celebrate healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus pandemic and urged everyone to stay strong during the health crisis.## Over 70 artists and celebrities from across the world joined the concert to honor the frontline workers. The virtual concert, organized by the WHO and Global Citizen on Saturday, was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert. There were so many articles. I got so many good notices - more than ever in my career - and there was a lot of "˜She's going to get nominated for an Oscar.
