
Joanna Jędrzejczyk To Be Inducted Into UFC Hall of Fame As First Strawweight Champion
Former UFC strawweight champion Joanna JÄ™drzejczyk will be enshrined in the UFC Hall of Fame's Modern Wing as part of the Class of 2024. JÄ™drzejczyk becomes the second woman and first strawweight champion to receive this honor. ## The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 27th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of UFC International Fight Week. The ceremony will stream live exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS.## "Joanna is one of the greatest athletes in combat sports history," said UFC CEO Dana White. Her toughness is legendary, and it's an honor to induct her into the Hall of Fame this summer."## JÄ™drzejczyk will be inducted alongside former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The Modern Wing recognizes fighters who turned professional after November 17, 2000 (the date of the first UFC event under the unified rules of MMA), are at least 35 years old, or have been retired for one year or more.## JÄ™drzejczyk boasts a 16-5 record (10-5 UFC) across her 10-year, 21-fight professional career. She holds notable victories over former strawweight champions Carla Esparza and Jessica Andrade.## JÄ™drzejczyk turned professional in 2012, winning her debut via unanimous decision.
