Oscars 2026: Sinners Creates History With Highest Nominations Ever As Homebound Misses Out In International Category
Mumbai, January 22 - The Oscars 2026 nominations delivered a historic moment as director Ryan Coogler's Sinners emerged as the most-nominated film ever, earning a record-breaking 16 nominations. Leonardo DiCaprio's One Battle After Another scored 13 nominations at this year's Oscars. Sinners, meanwhile, dominated the list with nods in all major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and multiple acting awards, instantly becoming the biggest frontrunner of this awards season. The movie is expected win in most of the nominated categories. The Dharma Productions' production was selected as India's official Oscars 2026 entry and even made it to the Academy's shortlist film but eventually missed out in final five. Homebound explores the experiences of two childhood friends portrayed by Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa after they attempt to pass the national police exam. It also features Janhvi Kapoor as Chandan's classmate. It was released theatrically in September last year. Stay tuned...
