
Vishnu Manchu Voted As Next President Of The Movie Artists Association (MAA)
Hyderabad, October 10 - Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu has been voted as the next president of the Movie Artists Association (MAA), the apex body of the Telugu film industry. He was up against Prakash Raj and defeated him by a huge margin of over 400 votes. ## There was a huge excitement for MAA elections this year like never before as it is a General Elections for state and Central governments. Telugu news channels have noted that Vishnu's father Mohan Babu played a huge role in Vishnu's victory. There was intense campaigning by Vishnu's panel and Prakash Raj's panel over the last few weeks which made the MAA elections, which are usually a low-key affair, interesting. ## While Vishnu Manchu takes the top position for the next two years, reportedly Prakash Raj's panel won more positions than Manchu's panel. For the Executive Vice President post, Srikanth from the Prakash Raj panel won over Babu Mohan from Vishnu Manchu. Raghu Babu and Shiva Balaji from Manchu's panel won on General Secretary and Treasurer posts. Of them, 665 had cast their ballots. Meanwhile, some of the top Telugu male stars such as Mahesh Babu, Jr.NTR, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, and Ravi Teja, among others have skipped the voting. Among the actresses, the likes of Anushka Shetty, Rakul Preet Singh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, and other actresses also skipped voting. ##
