Six-Time World Amateur Boxing Champion Mary Kom has brought up a major upset for India as she goes down to reigning Olympic Bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia in Pre-Quarterfinals of Women's 51kg category. ## Sh successfully qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but The 38-year-old legend, who is the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer (male or female) to win eight World Championship medals, lost 2-3 to reigning Olympic Bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia. ## Following her round of 16 bouts against Ingrit Valencia of Colombia 2-3, she is now out of the Games. Mary won the third and final round 3-2, but the margin had put in a lot of damage in the first round. ## The country pride is the only Indian female boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the flyweight (51 kg) category and winning a bronze medal. The six-time world boxing champion lost to Colombia's Ingrit Valencia, who won bout 3-2 in the flyweight (51kg) pre-quarterfinal, on Thursday (July 29). ## Priyanka Chopra, who played Mary Kom in the boxer's biopic, took to social media and hailed the Bronze medalist of the London Olympics (2012). The Task Force is conducting the boxing competition in Tokyo after the International Boxing Association (AIBA) was suspended by the IOC for alleged misgovernance and financial wrongdoing.## "I had beaten this girl twice in the past. I couldn't believe that her hand was raised by the referee. I swear, it hadn't struck me that I lost, I was so sure", said Mary adding, "The worst part is that there is no review or protest. Honestly I am sure the world must have seen, this is too much what they have done," she said. "I should have got the second round unanimously, how was it 3-2?
