'The Batman 2' Release Date Postponed

Los Angeles, December 28 - Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back director Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 by a year and it will now arrive in 2027. The film is the follow-up to Reeves' The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role. ## The superhero sequel was originally supposed to be released on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and debut on October 1, 2027, in Imax, Warner Bros. announced on Friday. The production of the film is expected to start next year.## Reeves' The Batman was released in March 2022 and grossed over $772 million at the worldwide box office, including $369 million domestically. Los Angeles, March 13 - Robert Pattinson-led The Batman Part II release date has been postponed by a year and it will now be debuting in theatres in 2026. ## The sequel to director Matt Reeves' superhero movie The Batman was first announced during CinemaCon in April 2022 and in January 2023, the movie was officially scheduled for October 2025 release and has now been pushed back to October 2, 2026. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the delay in the film was caused by the writers' strike last year. DC Studios Unveils First Five Theatrical Films In The New DC Universe

Los Angeles, February 1 - The DC Universe is getting completely rebooted under the new co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Three months after Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn and Safran as Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, the new studio tapped with overseeing all DC film, TV, animation, and game projects going forward.## James Gunn had promised that the new DC Universe slate would be announced in January 2023, and as it is, the studio finally unveiled its two-chapter plan for the future DCU. The first chapter is named "Gods and Monsters". ## The studio has unveiled 10 projects, including 5 theatrical tentpoles in its first chapter. These projects are different from the already announced or in-production films and shows. The new slate will focus on the already-established DC Characters as well as the new heroes. ## Have a look at the MOVIES which are announced in the chapter - ## Superman: Legacy ## "Superman: Legacy" will mark the start of the DCU but it will not be an origin story of the proverbial Man of Steel. "It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing", Safran said. "He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned". ## James Gunn is writing the script and he might direct it as well. The movie will open in theaters on 11 July 2025. ## The Authority ## "This is one of my real passion projects", Gunn said. "I've been working really hard on it with the writers and we’re starting to put together the entire story. This is a big movie". "Superman: Legacy" will lead directly into "The Authority", a very different kind of story about superhumans who have a less-than-idealistic approach to saving the world.## "They are basically good-intentioned, but they think that the world is completely broken and the only way to fix it is to take things into their own hands, whether that means killing people, destroying heads of state, changing governments—basically, whatever they want to do to make the world better. We’ll see how that journey goes for them", Gunn revealed, adding that the movie is currently being written. ## The Brave and the Bold ## This is the introduction of the DCU's Batman which is different from Robert Pattinson's "The Batman – Part II" with director Matt Reeves. It will feature the extended Bat Family.## "The Brave and the Bold" is the story of Damian Wayne, who's Bruce Wayne's biological son, a fact unknown to Wayne for the first eight to 10 years of Damian's life. He was raised as a little murderer and assassin. "It's a very strange sort of father-son story about the two of them", Gunn said. ## Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow ## This is based on Tom King's (and Bilquis Evely's) wonderful comic. "Woman of Tomorrow" features Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, who is a very different type of Supergirl. ## "We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who was raised on a rock chip off of Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life". ## Gunn revealed that "Woman of Tomorrow" will be much harder supergirl than we have been used to thus far. ## Swamp Thing ## This is a film that will investigate the dark origins of Swamp Thing. Box Office: The Batman Takes A Slow Start In China Amid Covid-19 Surge

Mumbai, March 19 - Warner Bros.' one of the most talked-about films, "The Batman" debuted in the biggest movie market in the world, China, on March 18. ## With the Robert Pattinson-fronted superhero film ruling the worldwide box office, the studio had hoped for the same in China as well, but that was not the case this time. From the last few days, China is witnessing a sudden rise in the covid-19 cases, forcing the closure of some cinema halls. ## While it is true that Hollywood films have struggled at the box office of late in China, "The Batman" was still expected to take a decent to a good start. However, contrary to the huge expectations, the film opened to a worryingly slow start on Friday, grossing $3.7 million, as per Hollywood trade expert Luiz Fernando. ## The opening of "The Batman" in China is low compared to "A Quiet Place" ($3.9M), and "Free Guy" ($5.2M), which were released in 2021. The movie, however, did surpass "Avatar's" re-release last year with a $3.5M opening. "The Batman" also outscored Tom Holland's recently released "Uncharted" ($2M). ## China is one of the key markets for the "Batman" franchise. The previous Batman films have reasonably done well in China. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" earned $53 million in 2012 while "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" scored $97 million in 2016.
