Nandarmuri Balakrishna's Akhanda 2 Strikes Record-Breaking Post-Theatrical OTT Deal With Netflix

Hyderabad, September 11 - The much-awaited sequel to Nandamuri Balakrishna's blockbuster Akhanda has been delayed, but the anticipation for the film shows no signs of slowing down. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, Akhanda 2 is now aiming for a grand worldwide release in the first week of December, in multiple languages. In 2025, the sequels failed to justify the massive expectations, except for a few, and despite that, the trade is supremely confident in Akhanda 2. Not just theatrical ambitions, the film has managed to strike a massive post-theatrical streaming deal with Netflix, possibly without a Hindi version. According to the latest Telugu media reports, Netflix has acquired the streaming rights of the movie for 80+ crores, which is the biggest for Balakrishna. It is not reported whether the streamer has bought the rights for all languages or just for the South Indian versions. Akhanda 2 is expected to have a full-fledged release in Hindi version, meaning an 8-week theatrical window, which is beyond Netflix's agenda. Produced by 14 Reels Plus and Sarke Studio, Akhanda 2 was supposed to be released on September 25, but the makers recently announced that due to the extensive post-production, it has been postponed. There is Pawan Kalyan's highly-awaited OG on September 25, so the trade believes it was the right decision to move back the release of the sequel. The big success of Akhanda (2021) has boosted the box office prospects of Akhanda 2, which is expected to open with massive collections all around. 'Jaat' Director Gopichand Malineni Reunites With Balakrishna For A Historical Epic

Hyderabad, June 8 - Director Gopichand Malineni has reunited with Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna for a historical epic film, tentatively titled NBK 111. The duo previously collaborated on Veera Simha Reddy, which was released in January 2023 and emerged as a box office hit. ## The announcement of NBK 111 was made on Sunday, June 10, with a poster featuring a lion with a half mask. It will be produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru of Vriddhi Cinemas, the banner currently backing Peddi with superstar Ram Charan. ## While the details about the project are not revealed yet, it is said that it will be a historical action drama. Box Office: 'Daaku Maharaaj' Crosses 100 Crore Gross Worldwide

Hyderabad, January 19 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj has completed its full first week at the worldwide box office. After the superb opening, the movie remained steady throughout the week and surpassed 100 crores gross. ## Directed by Bobby, Daaku Maharaaj has grossed approximately 89 crores domestically and around 16 crores at the overseas box office for a global cume of 105 crores in 7 days. Box Office: 'Daaku Maharaaj' Second Day; 'Game Changer' Fourth Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, January 13 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj exceeded expectations on its first to score over 30 crores gross at the domestic box office, proving to be the second biggest opener for the actor. ## On the second day, the film is seeing a good hold as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 13-15 crores gross in Telugu states, dropping around 50% from Sunday. Overall, Daaku Maharaj is expected to score 15-17 crores gross collection on Monday. ## Daaku Maharaj's total domestic collection after 2 days is around 45+ crores gross, which is fantastic ahead of the long holiday Pongal period. The movie is likely to storm the box office over the next couple of days and will look to go past the 100 crores gross mark during this period. ## On the other hand, superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has plummeted further on Monday as India gross is expected to be in the range of 10 crores gross, as per estimates. Box Office: Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Bhagavanth Kesari' Crosses 100 Crores Gross Worldwide

Hyderabad, October 30 - Veteran Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna has completed the hattrick of 100 crores grosser at the worldwide box office with his latest action drama Bhagavanth Kesari. Earlier, "Akhanda" and "Veera Simha Reddy" achieved this feat. ## Directed by Anil Ravipudi, "Bhagavanth Kesari has crossed the 100 crores gross mark as I type this (in 12 days) and becomes the 6th Telugu movie of the year to do so. The movie scored approximately 99 crores gross through the second Sunday (11 days) and is expected to be around 101 crores at the end of the second Monday. ## "Bhagavanth Kesari" has minted approximately 86 crores gross at the Indian box office and an estimated 13 crores overseas through second Sunday. Hyderabad, October 15 - Veteran Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna teamed with director Anil Ravipudi for the first time on the action drama Bhagavanth Kesari. Produced by Shine Screens, the movie has Kajal Aggarwal, Sreeleela and Arjun Rampal (Telugu debut) in prominent roles.## "Bhagavanth Kesari" is carrying good buzz among the fans as well as trade. NBK is coming after two back-to-back big hits in the form of "Akhanda" and "Veera Simha Reddy" which are also his only two films to cross the 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office. Anil Ravipudi too has proved his mettle with films like "Sarileru Neekevvaru" and "F2 & F3", so the combo of the actor and director is working well in the trade. ## The upcoming movie, which is scheduled to hit theatres on October 19, is among the top movies of NBK in terms of the pre-release theatrical business.
