Samantha To Lead BAFTA-Winning Director Philip John's 'Arrangements of Love'

Hyderabad, November 26 - Samantha Ruth Prabhu is on board to lead BAFTA-winning Welsh director Philip John's ("Downton Abbey"), "Arrangements of Love". It will be produced by Sunitha Tati's Guru Films, who earlier produced Samantha's Telugu film "Oh! Baby", which was a commercial success. Samir Sarkar, of Singapore's Magic Hour Films, is the executive producer of the new film.## "Arrangements of Love" is an adaptation of the bestselling 2004 novel of the same title by Indian author Timeri N. Murari. It follows a Welsh-Indian man on his quest to find his estranged father with an impromptu visit to his homeland. ## According to Variety, Samantha plays a strong-minded and funny force of nature 27-year-old, who runs her own detective agency and becomes part of the search. She is a progressive bisexual Tamil woman, with ultra-traditional parents, who want her to have an arranged marriage. As much as she wants to please her parents she also wants to be able to make her own life choices.## Speaking about the film, Samantha said, "A whole new world opens up for me today as I start my journey with 'Arrangements of Love', which has such an endearing and personal story. I am excited to work with Philip John, whose projects I have closely followed for many years, being a big fan of "Downton Abbey".## "I am looking forward to collaborating with Sunitha once again and I hope for only more success than we previously had with 'Oh! Baby'. My role is a complex character and it will be both a challenge and an opportunity for me to play it. I cannot wait to get on set", she added.## "Having Samantha on board is indeed serendipitous. I have worked with her before and must say that she always brings her curiosity and talent to the project", Sunitha Tati told Variety. "I can already visualize the life that she will breathe into the character. It is a pleasure to work with her again as we explore the international waters together".## "Arrangements of Love" is expected to commence shooting in August 2022. Sayani to star as acid attack victim in 'The Good Karma Hospital'

Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Actress Sayani Gupta will be seen essaying the role of a nurse in a British medical drama titled "The Good Karma Hospital".## In the ITV series, Sayani will play a nurse named Jyoti, who falls prey to an acid attack. The series, that was shot in 2018, has a few tracks one of which, follows Sayani's character post the attack and goes through 17 restorative stages of surgery and medical procedure. It will also put spotlight on her grueling personal journey and transition after the acid attack.## "I got cast for this after a couple of auditions by Sehar Latif and this was one of the most gratifying and heartbreaking characters I played so far. The British cast and crew along with the Sri-Lankan crew were absolutely incredible," Sayani said.## She continued to narrate her experience on the sets: "And to be doing most of my scenes with the terrific Amanda Redman and Nimmi Harasgama was unbelievably educational actually. I learned so much on that set. We had two directors Philip John and John Mckay who were both so uniquely brilliant. I underwent 17 stages of acid attack and surgical prosthetics and Davy Jones, a BAFTA winner prosthetics genius and Abby did some groundbreaking work on me. Graham Frame who is one of the most senior and respected cinematographers from Britain shot the show. I learned a great deal from him as well and we had a beautiful equation. Tiger aspects are the producers and Trevor and Rosemary took such good care of us. This entire team of British and Sri-Lankan crew was just so magnanimous and wonderful. We had such a beautiful time shooting in stunning Sri Lanka. I really got lucky with this one and will always be grateful for this magical experience."## The series is set in a hospital in Kerala and is set to bring many more exciting and gripping plot-lines for its third installment of the show. The shooting was done in Galle, in Sri-Lanka over three months.
