Ajay Devgn's Acclaimed Thriller Movie, 'Drishyam' Sets China Release Date

Mumbai, March 29 - Ajay Devgn-starrer thriller film, "Drishyam" is all set to release in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world. The critically and commercially successful movie is the remake of the 2013 Malayalam-language film of the same name starring superstar Mohanlal. ## Directed by late director Nishikant Kamat, "Drishyam" will be released in China on April 15, 2022. In the past, Indian movies have done wonders at the Chinese box office and minted crores. Aamir Khan's "Dangal" is the highest-grossing Indian title in China with 1305 crores gross ($ 203M). ## "Drishyam" has been one of the most loved thriller movies in Bollywood cinema. It grossed 110 crores worldwide in a budget of approx. 48 crores and was declared hit at the box office. Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer "Andhadhun", which holds a special place in the thriller genre, was a massive hit in China with a gross total of ₹ 333.62 Cr [$ 48.28M].## The last Indian film released in China was a Tamil sports drama film "Kanaa", starring Sathyaraj, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Sivakarthikeyan. It was released on March 18, 2022, however, the movie turned out to be a failed attempt as it grossed approx. 3 crores in the first 12 days. Ajay Devgn And Drishyam Cast Set To Reprise Their Roles In Drishyam 2!

Mumbai, September 23: Superstar Ajay Devgn has locked one more film in his long list of the upcoming slate. The actor, who is currently working on multiple films such as Mayday, Maidaan, Thank God, and Disney+Hotstar series Rudra, is all set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the sequel to the blockbuster "Drishyam".## Earlier in May this year, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International had acquired the Hindi remake rights of Mohanlal starrer suspense thriller "Drishyam 2". The latest development around the Hindi remake is that it is set to go on floors in December this year after Ajay Devgn finishing his current projects. ## According to Peepingmoon, Ajay Devgn has given his dates from late December to this sequel that will be the remake of Mohanlal's critically acclaimed Malayalam film, Drishyam 2: The Resumption. The sequel will also see Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta reprising their roles from the first part which was released in 2015. ## Abhishek Pathak, who made his directorial debut with Sunny Singh's "Ujda Chaman", will reportedly be directing "Drishyam 2". He has stepped in to helm this much-awaited thriller in the absence of the first part's director Nishikant Kamat who passed away last year due to multiple organ failure. ## The first part of Drishyam traced the struggle of Salgaonkar and his family who come under suspicion when the son of Inspector General Police gets killed. Drishyam 2, which is set six years after the events of the first film, will showcase how Vijay Salgaonkar and his family's past come to haunt them and how they manage to escape once again. ## The original "Drishyam 2" was released directly on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. Upon its digital premiere, it received rave reviews as audiences hailed it one of the finest suspense thrillers of Indian cinema. Jeethu Joseph To Direct Venkatesh In Telugu Remake Of Malayalam Film 'Drishyam 2'

Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie, Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 19 and it is getting brilliant reviews from the viewers. The Telugu remake of this suspense thriller is already in work with Jeethu Joseph returning to helm the much-anticipated remake with Telugu superstar Venkatesh. ## Released in 2014, the Telugu remake of Drishyam, titled Drushyam was directed by Sripriya, but this time, the sequel will be directed by Jeethu himself who shot to national fame with Mohanlal starrer. Venkatesh, who starred in Drushyam, will carry forward his role in the sequel. ## Jeethu Joseph announced the sequel of the Telugu remake. He also confirmed that the shooting will begin next month in March and will be wrapped up as soon as possible. It has been reported that Jeethu has already landed in Hyderabad and had been in talks with multiple people involved in the project.## Talking about Drushyam, the film tells the story of Rambabu (Venkatesh), a middle-class cable TV operator, and his family. They come under suspicion when Varun, the son of the Inspector-general of police (IG), goes missing soon after harassing Rambabu's daughter. The rest of the film reveals how Varun disappeared and what Rambabu does to keep his family from going to prison. ## Drushyam had Meena and Esther Anil from the original cast of Drishyam. Nadhiya played the role of the police officer whose son is murdered by Rambabu's daughter. ## Mohanlal's Drishyam has been remade in several languages including Hindi, Sinhalese, and Mandarin. Drishyam Director Nishikant Kamat Passes Away In Hyderabad At 50

Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam movie director Nishikant Kamat who was suffering from liver cirrhosis has succumbed to the disease at the age of 50 in Hyderabad on August 17, Monday. ## Earlier there were reports of Nishikant Kamat being stable, however, he did not show much improvement and his condition got a lot worse. The director was in a private hospital in Hyderabad and was being treated for his condition.
