Chadwick Boseman's Family Reacts On Late Actor Not Winning Oscars, Says 'He Was Not Snubbed'

Los Angeles, April 28, 2021: Chadwick Boseman's family has a message for those saying the late actor got snubbed from an Oscar. Chadwick's brother Derrick Boseman spoke to TMZ, and said that his family has no hard feeling following the 93rd Academy Awards as every nominated actor in the category was deserving of the award. ## Anthony Hopkins, who played the role of a man who has dementia and constantly forgets important life events in the movie "The Father", won the Oscars of the Best Actor over presumed frontrunner Boseman. Hopkins, after winning his second Oscar, released a belated acceptance speech the morning after the Academy Awards, which aired on 25 April, including the shoutout to Boseman. ## Boseman's family congratulated Hopkins and his family, as Derrick put it, "I'm sure [Anthony] would if Chad won". Derrick says Chadwick wasn't one to put too much value on the Oscars anyway. Derrick says Chadwick "always described them to me as a campaign. Yes, an Oscar would have been an achievement, but was never an obsession for him". ## To the surprise of many viewers, the Best Actor category concluded the Oscars ceremony (25 April) when it is typically Best Picture that closes the evening's events. Some have speculated that producers moved Best Actor to the end as they had predicted Boseman would win the prize for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" which won two Oscars for Best Makeup And Hair, and Best Costume Design. ## Chadwick Boseman was died last year on August 29 due to colon cancer at the age of 43. He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2016 had battled this for four years. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, April 27, 2021: The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, which was held in the early morning (as per IST) on Monday (April 26), couldn't grab the attention of the audience, as the TV Ratings of the ceremony was all-time low as per early numbers. ## This year's Oscars joined the recent awards shows such as Grammys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards, which witnessed a sharp decline in tv viewing from the previous year. As per early numbers, the 93rd Oscars drew 9.85 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults of 18-49 on Sunday. However, the final numbers may increase after they come out on Tuesday. ## Last year, the numbers were high with 23.64 million viewers and 5.3 ratings in the key ad demographic. The decline of 58 percent for Oscars 2021 is the second-highest after Golden Globes (62 percent) in the recently organized award shows. The Grammys and SAG Awards also had witnessed a decline of more than 50 percent from their previous year. ## Despite making changes in the format of the show, the reviews for the Oscars were mixed. Daniel Fienberg, who is the critic at The Hollywood Reporter, felt that the producers' gamble in making best actor the final category fell flat when an absent Anthony Hopkins won for The Father and the show ended somewhat abruptly.## Meanwhile, it was the first time Oscars was held virtually and in-person due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It took place in Los Angeles - at both Union Station and the Dolby Theatre.## Stay tuned...

Keith Gomes' 'Shameless' Starring Sayani Gupta is India's Official Entry in Oscars 2020 in Live Action Short Category

The Sayani Gupta-starrer, Shameless, by writer-director Keith Gomes is the official Indian entry in the Live Action Short Film category at the 93rd Oscars, to be held next year in April. The 15-minute film is a black comedy thriller that beat short films including Vidya Balan's Natkhat in the Oscars entry race.## Co-starring Hussain Dalal and Rishabh Kapoor, Shameless revolves around the theme of loss of human spirit due to technology, while it also attempts to raise relevant questions on issues of entitlement, humanity, and empathy toward the migrant class.## "My experience on 'Shameless' was fantastic and now we submitting to the Oscars, it's a wow! Keith is wonderful as a director and very gentle with his actors and crew. Hussain, of course, is a great friend, and it was a ball working with him. We have a silent communication and understanding when it comes to improvisations etc," said Sayani Gupta to India TV.## "I observe human behavior and love telling stories about the human spirit. This world needs kindness and my films are a reminder to not get lost in technology. I make films with little funding from family and friends, everyone comes together with loads of love and passion. Couldn't be more blessed," said director Gomes.## Earlier, the Film Federation of India had selected Lijo Jose Pellissery's Malayalam movie Jallikattu as the country's official representative in the 93rd Academy Awards' best international feature category. ## Stay tuned...
