Jonathan Majors aka Kang Reacts To Poor Critics Reviews For 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'

Los Angeles, March 5 - Marvel Studios' latest superhero flick Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduced Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conquerer into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kang's one of the variants was introduced in Marvel's Disney+ "Loki" and going forward, Kang will be the center attraction of the MCU. ## The big-screen debut of Jonathan Majors as Kang brought him glowing appreciation, however, the movie got slammed by critics. "Ant-Man 3" is one of the worst-reviewed Marvel films in history with a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, which nearly matches the record-low "Eternals" score of 47%. ## During the "Screen Talk" podcast of IndieWire, Majors reacted to the low critic scores for "Quantumania" and said that "It doesn't change how I see myself, period. It's all data". ## "They (critics) have an opinion. You always have an opinion. I'm no fool. I know these are people writing it. These aren't my Yale professors or my drama teachers. These are people who have kids and they have a perspective, they have a religious upbringing or a lack thereof. They live in this town, or they want to be seen in this way, or don't want to be seen in this way".## "I look at the aggregate and, ok, 47. But what does that 47 mean when you also got this amount of box office? What do these things mean? It's information. I am in the know. I won't play myself. If you are a critic on a level, I probably know you and understand your politics", the actor added.## Directed by Peyton Reed, "Ant-Man 3" has already seen highs and lows within the two weekends at the box office. The movie took the biggest opening in the "Ant-Man" franchise by scoring $106 million on the 3-day opening weekend (North America) but fell flat in the second weekend for a record 70% drop in the MCU. Los Angeles, February 26 - Marvel Studios and Disney's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania secured the top spot at the domestic (North America) box office for the second consecutive week but suffered a record drop. ## The superhero movie, directed by Peyton Reed, grossed an estimated $32 million on the second weekend, dropping almost 70%. The movie witnessed the biggest-ever drop in the second weekend for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The second on the list is "Black Panther" which dropped $44.7%. ## The total domestic gross collection of "Ant-Man 3" after the 2nd weekend reached $167.3 million. It had taken the opening of $106 million, the highest in the "Ant-Man" franchise. The lifetime collection of the film is projected to finish somewhere between $215 million - $245 million in North America. ## Meanwhile, the movie has crossed $300 million at the global box office after grossing approx. $79 million, including $46.4 million overseas in the second weekend. Los Angeles, February 15 - The Hollywood film industry is gearing up for a long celebration throughout this summer with tentpole titles, starting with Marvel Studios' "Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania". ## Directed by Peyton Reed, "Ant-Man 3" is kicking start Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase 5, and the early box office tracking shows a bumper opening for the movie. As revealed earlier and according to Deadline, the threequel is tracking to earn $95 million to $100 million in a 3-day opening weekend at 4300 theaters at the domestic (North America) box office. ## The superhero movie's projected opening will make it the biggest domestic opener for the Ant-Man franchise. The first film in the series, "Ant-Man" (2015) opened at $57 million, followed by "Ant-Man and the Wasp" (2018) at $76 million opening weekend. ## Overseas, "Ant-Man 3" is heading towards $160 million - $170 million in the 5-day weekend, starting from Wednesday.
