Ramayana Part 1 An ancient epic follows a young prince and princess whose marriage and subsequent exile mark the beginning of a legendary journey. Their story of love, duty and destiny sets the stage for greater challenges ahead. It is the first instalment of a two-part series. The film (both parts) is made on the biggest ever Indian film budget of 4000-4500 crore. It is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios, Yash's Monster Mind Creations and Charles Rowan's American studio Atlas Entertainment, but was entirely shot and edited in India. Its visual effects (VFX) were handled by British-Indian studio DNEG. The film's music is composed by Hans Zimmer (who is working on his first Indian project) and A.R. Rahman.
