Sunny Deol In Talks To Play Lord Hanuman In Nitesh Tiwari's Epic 'Ramayana'

Mumbai, October 10 - Over the last few days, director Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic Ramayana has been in the news regarding its casting. The media reports have confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi roped in to play Maa Sita and Yash to play Raavan.## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the makers are in talks with Sunny Deol to play the role of Lord Hanuman. The makers believe that Sunny is a perfect fit for this mighty role which stands for strength. Deol has effortlessly played the roles in the past where he had to show the strength of the character and Lord Hanuman is another opportunity for him to deliver the same.## The actor has shown interest in being a part of Nitesh Tiwari"™s rendition of Ramayana and is also excited to play the part of Lord Hanuman. However, the talks are said to be in the initial stage currently and are moving in the right direction.## The report also reveals that the makers are also discussing a standalone movie about Bajrang Bali with Sunny Deol in the lead. After 'Ramayana' Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari To Adapt Satyam Srivastava's Book 'The Wielder of the Trishul' For A Movie?

Mumbai, October 14 - Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has been working on the epic feature Ramayana for some time now. The feature film will reportedly star Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Hrithik Roshan as Ravan while the search for the role of Sita is underway. The movie will officially be announced once all three main characters finalize.## Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is also showing his interest in author Satyam Srivastava's "The Wielder of the Trishul" mythological fictional book. The "Dangal" director launched the book in Mumbai on Wednesday (October 14) where he hints that he might adapt it for a feature film, "if it's something very exciting".## When asked if he would like to make a movie out of the book he had just released, he said, "It is a tough question. I think I will be very honest here; I would want to finish reading the book because for me entire story arch is really important. The end has got me more intrigued. Once I finish the book and if it is something very exciting as a story, I'd say why not".## Tiwari praised the author for his narrative, which he said was easy for readers to follow. "Satyam has taken mythology and put it in a slightly fictional place, but the book still has a lot of mythological characters who exist in our literature, such as our gods and goddesses. He has integrated both elements nicely. The place where the story is taking place is fictional, but the characters are familiar, so there is a sense of excitement and familiarity as well", he added. ## Meanwhile, the epic "Ramayana" has been in development for a long time now and some of the Oscar-winning team of artists is working on the film. It will jointly be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar while Madhu Mantena, Allu Arvind, and Namit Malhotra will be producing it. Mumbai, October 3 - It looks like producer Madhu Mantena has found his Ram and Raavan for his epic and the ambitious feature film "Ramayana". The project, which is said to be India's biggest to date, has been in development for a long time now as the makers are working to finalize the leading cast for this film. ## On Saturday (October 2), Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were spotted together and reports claim that the duo had met producer Namit Malhotra in his office and had a meeting regarding the epic, Ramayana with Madhu Mantena and director Nitesh Tiwari. The duo reportedly discussed some basic stuff and the plans to take the film on floors in the second half of 2022 with the makers.## According to Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan will play Ram and Raavan respectively while the search for Sita is still on. Since then it has been in the pre-production stage as it requires a lot of neat and clean work to take it on floors. It was later revealed that Nitesh Tiwari along with Mom director, Ravi Udyawar will be donning the director's hat for this ambitious project. ## Since then, a lot of theories have been made around it about its casting, plot, among the other details. While we wait for things to be officially announced, Madhu Mantena has revealed some key details about the film and his plan to take this trilogy, which is touted to be India's biggest film ever, to the global audience. ## Speaking about the project to Pinkvilla, Madhu said, "The ambition that we have for Ramayana is larger than what our country has seen. The responsibility to tell this story is so larger that it requires a lot of work. We have taken it on ourselves to make it as well as anything else in the world. We are trying to follow the process that James Cameron did for Avatar. The ambition is so larger that we are going into the minute details of everything. We need to show the world what Ramayana is and it needs to portray all the magic that Valmiki wrote. This isn't a project, it's a purpose, a purpose to tell Ramayana in all its glory to the world", he added. ## Over the past year, there have been reports claiming that this trilogy will feature Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu as Ram along with Bollywood superstars Hrithik Roshan, and Deepika Padukone as Ravana and Sita respectively. When asked to comment on the same, the filmmaker neither denies nor confirms the news, but revealed that people can expect an announcement of the star-cast around Diwali this year. ## "Please expect the biggest cast ever in the history of Indian cinema. You can expect an announcement of the star-cast around Diwali this year. The characters of Ravana, Ram, Sita, Laxman are larger than life. You will see actors who are the best in class in terms of performances, coming on board the film. When I say the biggest cast ever, I mean it. It's going to be really exciting", he promises.## "We will be getting the best artists from across the country. It's not about North and South, it's about unifying the country. We are doing this as India", Madhu added. Talking about the budget of the film, he says, "We don't know the budget yet, but it's going to be bigger than anything that India has seen to date.
