Mumbai, January 13 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn emerged as one of the most successful actors from the Hindi film industry in 2022. The actor had multiple releases in 2022, both in theaters and on digital platforms, and succeeded in both of them. ## The actor made his digital debut with the Disney Plus Hotstar series, titled Rudra: The Edge of Darkness and this turned out the most successful Hindi web show of 2022. According to a report by media consulting firm Ormax, "Rudra" scored 35.2 million viewership, making it the most-watched Hindi show of the year. ## The season of "Aashram" on MX Player was the second most-watched Hindi show with 34.3 million views, followed by the second season of "Panchayat" (29.6 million views) on Amazon Prime Video, "Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach" (23 million views) and "The Great Indian Murder" (23 million views). ## Ajay Devgn's also had stupendous success at the box office where his "Drishyam 2" emerged as the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2022 with a worldwide gross collection of 341+ crores. It is still playing in theaters and doing decent business. Mumbai, July 26 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn's digital debut has been one of the highlights of 2022 so far. The actor headlined Disney+Hotstar's psychological crime thriller web series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness, which has emerged as the most-watched Hindi web series in the first half of 2022 (1st Jan - June 30th). ## Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness" has scored 35.2 million views so far, according to Ormax Media. The 6-episode series, which is a remake of the British series "Luther", was released on March 4 and becomes the most-watched show this year. ## "Aashram" season 3, starring Bobby Deol, is the second most-watched Hindi show this year so far. Released on June 3rd, the 10-episode show has garnered 34.3 million views on MX Player while Jitendra Kumar's "Panchayat" second season scored 29.6 million views on Amazon Prime Video and is the 3rd most Hindi show this year. ## Meanwhile, Yami Gautam-starrer critically hailed thriller film A Thursday topped the feature film chart on the digital platform. Directed by Behzad Khambata, the movie was released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar on February 17 and emerged as the most-watched Hindi film this year so far, as per the Ormax Media study. ## Director Shakun Batra's romantic drama film on modern relationships, "Gehraiyaan" is the second most-watched Hindi film with 22.3 million views. It stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa in lead roles and it received mixed to negative reviews upon its direct release on Amazon Prime Video on February 11. ## The biographical sports drama "Kaun Pravin Tambe?" starring Shreyas Talpade as Pravin Tambe scored 20.2 million views so far and is number 3 among the highest-viewed Hindi films of 2022. Mumbai, March 7 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn marked his digital debut with the Disney Plus Hotstar series, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness". The psychological crime thriller series, which is a remake of the British series "Luther" starring Idris Elba, was released on March 4. ## Upon the release of the show, it received mixed to a positive response from critics and audiences alike. It was, as expected, remained the most-watched Indian show on OTT during its opening weekend. As per Ormax Media, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness", got 8.6 million views in the first 3 days (March 4-6). Makers claimed it is the highest viewership count on Disney+Hotstar during the opening weekend. ## The 6-episode series also stars Raashi Khanna and Esha Deol in prominent roles. Mumbai, June 10, 2021: Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn is gearing up for his digital debut. The actor announced his much-awaited OTT debut with the Disney Plus Hotstar series, Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness, in April. The crime drama thriller is said to the official Hindi adaptation of the British TV series, Luther which starred Idris Elba in the lead roles. ## Now, we have learnt that South Indian actress, Raashii Khanna has been roped in to play a key role. While Ajay Devgn will be stepping in the shoes of Edris Elba as a detective investigating serious crimes while simultaneously facing his own demons, Raashii will reprise the role of Ruth Wilson, who is a psychopath and murderer. Interestingly, Rudra marks Khanna's second back-to-back Hindi show after Raj-DK's in-the-production Amazon Prime series that stars Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. ## According to Peepingmoon, Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Ventilator director Rajesh Mapuskar comes on board to helm the series, which will reportadly go on floors on July 21 in Mumbai. It is said to be Disney Plus Hotstar's biggest Indian show ever which follows the cases of a troubled yet intelligent officer who is trapped between an unrelenting approach to investigating many murders and his attempts to restore his marriage, with a bold and genre-defining story and fascinating characters. ## Ajay will start Rudra after completing his parts in MayDay (also directing), and Indra Kumar's comedy, Thank God which also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh.
