Marvel Confirms 'Black Panther 3 Is Officially In Development

Los Angeles, December 19 - Marvel Studios has officially put the third instalment of Black Panther in development with producer Nate Moore returning. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has confirmed the development in an interview with Deadline. ## "Nate has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we'll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie", Feige said. ## The production timeline of Black Panther 3 is not yet known. Ryan Coogler is expected to return to direct the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster while Denzel Washington confirmed that he would be playing the antagonist role in the film. ## The third film will follow on from 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – which itself is a sequel to Black Panther from 2018. It tells the story of the superhero of the same name aka King T'Challa of Wakanda, with the role played by late star Chadwick Boseman.## After Boseman's death in August 2020, plans for a sequel changed and T'Challa's sister Shuri, portrayed by Letitia Wright, ushered in a new era for Wakanda as a second iteration of Black Panther.## Stay tuned...

Marvel Studios 'Black Panther 2' And 'Ant-Man 3' Get Release Date In China

Beijing, January 17 - After more than 3 years, Marvel Studios secure its first release in China as it confirmed release dates of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. ## Director Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther 2", which was released last year globally, will be hitting Chinese theaters on February 17, followed by "Ant-Man 3" on February 17, 2023, day and date with North America release.## Due to the de facto ban on Marvel Movies, the studio was not able to get its movie released in Mainland China, costing Marvel/Disney hundreds of millions in potential ticket revenue. The last approved theatrical releases from the studio were "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Avengers: Endgame", way back in early/mid-2019. ## The news about the China release dates of the aforementioned films was shared by Marvel on Tuesday over its official Chinese social media accounts, as per The Hollywood Reporter. "Black Panther 2" will be the first Phase 4 MCU flick to release in the country. ## Over the last couple of years, many Marvel movies were denied release in China, as such - Black Widow, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. Los Angeles, December 25 - The former US president, Barack Obama has shared the list of the films along with the music and books he liked in 2022 and there are a number of titles that made headlines this year. ## Obama shared the list of his favorite movies of the year and the movie which topped his list is Steve Spielberg's coming-of-age drama The Fabelmans. Viola Davis' war epic The Woman King to Tom Cruise's epic sequel Top Gun: Maverick to Michelle Yeoh's just being epic in Everything Everywhere All At Once also made to his favorite movie list of 2022. ## He also really enjoyed Cate Blanchette's tour de force in Tar, along with Till, and the documentary Descendant, which he and Michelle produced through their Higher Ground company. Box Office: Black Panther 2 Races Past $500 Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, November 21 - Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office at the end of the second weekend.## The superhero movie, directed by Ryan Coogler, was the number one movie at the domestic (North American) box office for the second weekend in a row. It grossed $67.3 million in its second weekend in North America, pushing total domestic cum to $288 million in 10 days.## The drop for "Black Panther 2" was around 63% which is higher than the first Black Panther movie but relatively low as compared to the recent Marvel tentpoles, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and "Thor: Love and Thunder" which posted declines in the 67 percent range. ## At the international box office, the sequel grossed $258.3 million after approx. $70 million in the second weekend from 50 markets, pushing total global cume to over half a billion at $546.3 million. As per Deadline, the drop was just 49% overseas on the second weekend which is better than the majority of other MCU titles for the same suite of markets.## Despite the heavy first two weekends at the worldwide box office, "Black Panther 2" is nowhere close to its predecessor as Hollywood analysts are predicting it to be wrapped under $1 billion at around $850 million. Los Angeles, November 11 - Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever scored the 6th biggest Thursday previews opening for a Marvel film with $28 million at the domestic (North America) box office. ## The blockbuster sequel topped the original "Black Panther" which scored $25.2 million in 2018 but fell short of fellow 2022 Marvel titles "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" ($36M) and "Thor: Love and Thunder" ($29M). Overall, Black Panther 2's previews rank as the 15th top preview performance in Hollywood history. ## Ryan Coogler's directorial is eyeing a $180 million opening weekend domestic gross, which is short of its predecessor's $202 million start. The Rotten Tomatoes audience score of "Black Panther 2" is 94% while "Black Panther" has 79%.
