Suriya 44 Gets Official Title Teaser; Confirmed For Summer 2025 Release

Chennai, December 25 - Tamil star Suriya has teamed up with director Karthik Subbaraj for an action drama film centred around a love story. It is the 44th film of Suriya and on Wednesday, the makers announced its official title as Retro with the teaser.## The teaser reveals Suriya as a Southern Tamil Nadu native with a gang mafia as a family business while Pooja Hegde plays his love interest. It shows Suriya's character attempting to reform himself for the sake of love as he promises to his lover to give up anger, and violence. ## The film is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Stone Bench Films and Shakti Film Factory. Retro, which also stars Jayaram, Nasser, Joju George, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, and Karunakaran, among others is confirmed for the Summer of 2025 big screen debut in multiple languages.## The music of the film is done by Santhosh Narayanan while Shreyaas Krishna is the cinematographer. Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Again' Locks An Excellent Release Date

Mumbai, April 24 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn will be returning as Bajirao Singham in director Rohit Shetty's highly anticipated cop action drama film Singham Again. The third installment in the blockbuster franchise will feature Deepika Padukone as the female lead for the first time in Shetty's Cop Universe.## The shoot of Singham 3 will kickstart in August this year, and as announced recently, the movie will be hitting the big screen on August 15, 2024, worldwide. It was earlier announced for Diwali 2024 release, but the makers preponed the release date for Independence Day. ## Singham 3 has locked possibly the best release date of 2024 and as of now, there is no competition for it. It will have a Thursday release and it could make the most of it because of the Independence Day holiday. If the movie gets a favorable response from audiences, then it will go into the weekend with flying colors to the box office on fire. ## The movie will get an additional advantage of the national holiday on August 19, Monday in the form of Raksha Bandhan, so "Singham 3" has a 5-day extended weekend. The actor is winning praise for his role in the movie, in which he plays Dr. Karthikeya who is on a quest to find the lost anklet of Lord Krishna.## The climax of "Karthikeya 2" revealed that there will be another film in the franchise and Nikhil also confirmed the same adding that there will be more installments of Karthikeya in the future. During a recent interview with IANS, Nikhil talked about the next films in the franchise. ## "Since we have a character like Dr. Karthik who is hell-bent on unearthing exciting mysteries and having adventures. Dhanush Collaborates With Director Arun Matheswaran For A Pan India Movie, Captain Miller

Chennai, July 2 - Actor Dhanush has collaborated with director Arun Matheswaran ("Saani Kaayidham", "Rocky") for a Pan India movie, Captain Miller. The period action-adventure movie will be produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films. ## "Captain Miller" will be set in the Madras Presidency of the 1930s and 40s. Director Arun Matheswaran told the Times of India that he had written this film way back in 2018 and had also narrated it to Dhanush, however, it couldn't take place at that time. Later in 2019, the project began to take shape again, says Arun. ## Arun's "Rocky" and "Saani Kaayidham" were intense and dark which catered the adult audiences. The director has confirmed that the upcoming movie will be different, intended for a mainstream audience. "This one will be a UA film as there is going to be a lot of action. In fact, the second half will have war sequences", Arun added. ## Dhanush will be sporting three different looks in the movie and the character will also have two more names, confirmed by the director himself. "The story unfolds over 15 years of this character's life, so I knew that he'd capture the different timelines of a person's life very well. There's action and a range of emotions, and I felt that he'd pull it off the best", Matheswaran said about roping Dhanush in the movie. ## The makers have roped in celebrated artists for the movie. Shreyas Krishna ("Rocky", "Jagame Thandhiram") will be handling the cinematography while Nagooran is the editor. "Sarpatta Parambarai" fame Tha Ramalingam has been roped in as the art director while Poornima Ramaswamy, who won the National Award for her work in "Paradesi", is the costume designer of the film. GV Prakash Kumar will be composing the music. ## The movie will be shot in real locations across the country as the shooting will commence soon. Late Puneeth Rajkumar's Last Film 'James' To Release On His Birth Anniversary!

Bangalore, November 2 - Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, whose sudden demise has left the film fraternity and his fans in deep shock, will last be seen on the big screen in the upcoming Kannada action film "James". The actor had almost completed the shoot of James except for a song and an action sequence, which the makers have now decided to let go of. ## Directed by Chethan Kumar, James will be Puneeth's last commercial film. The makers had planned to release the film on his birth anniversary on March 17, and they will likely go with their initial plan to release the film. ## "Fans were expecting the film to release on March 17, which happens to be Puneeth's birth anniversary.
