Mumbai, August 22 - National award-winning director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is gearing up for the release of political drama The Bengal Files, which is the third piece in Agnihotri's Files trilogy after National Award-winning movies The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022). The upcoming movie revolves around the Calcutta riots of August 16, 1946, which were triggered after the All-India Muslim League called for Direct Action Day to demand a separate homeland. The movie has been in the media headlines for various reasons, which was expected. Recently, Bollywood star John Abraham shared his opinion on films like The Kashmir Files and Chhaava, and labelled them as the extreme right wing's ideological films, which he said are not good for society. He expressed that he would never make films like The Kashmir Files to "sway people in a hyper-political environment". Abraham's comments left many people furious, including director Agnihotri. During an interview with Padmaja Joshi of NDTV, the filmmaker, who worked with Abraham in 2007's sports drama Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, reacted to the actor's comment about The Kashmir Files. Mumbai, February 28 - Kangana Ranaut-fronted spy action thriller, "Dhaakad" has been postponed from April 8 due to unknown reasons. On Monday (Feb. 28), Kangana took to Instagram and dropped a new still and announced that the movie will now release on May 27, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, languages. ## "Dhaakad" was originally announced for Hindi release only. However, due to recent developments, the makers have also decided to release the film in the dubbed South languages. It will, however, have to face stiff competition for Telugu biggie, "F3: Fun Frustration More Fun", starring Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamanna Bhatia, and Mehreen Pirzada. ## Apart from "F3", the long-awaited Hindi-Telugu bilingual movie, "Major", starring Adivi Sesh, will also be released on May 27, making things tough for "Dhaakad", especially in Telugu states. Firstly, it became the most-watched Indian movie on the OTT platform in the first 24 hours with approximately 75 Million people watched this and now, it has become the highest-rated Indian movie on IMDb (Internet Movie Database). ## According to IMDb, over 75,000 people have rated the movie and its overall user rating is 9.7 which is the highest so far for an Indian movie. It surpassed the previously top-ranked Kamal Haasan and Madhavan's Tamil movie Anbe Sivam (2003) that's overall rating is 8.8. The movie was made free for all the subscribers and non-subscribers as a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput who died on June 14 after committing suicide. ## However, Sushant's fans wanted this movie to release in the theaters but it couldn't have possible due to the coronavirus pandemic which forced cinemas to close indefinitely. However, despite not getting a theatrical release, fans loved the film and made Dil Bechara a memorable film.
