All New Indian Films Coming To Amazon Prime Video After Their Theatrical Release

Mumbai, March 19 - Amazon Prime Video set to woo audiences around the world, craving for Indian content. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. While some of the films are already in the filming stage, some of them will start rolling soon and will premiere on Prime Video after completing their theatrical journey. ## Here are all the Indian movies coming to Prime Video after their theatrical release - ## Housefull 5 - The fifth instalment in the popular comedy franchise, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, HF5 is scheduled to hit big screens on June 6, 2025. ## Chandu Champion - Actor Kartik Aaryan teamed up with director Kabir Khan for this inspirational sports drama, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on June 14, 2024. ## Singham 3 - Director Rohit Shetty aims to make a solid comeback at the box office with the third instalment of the cop action drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the title role. Also featuring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor, Singham Again is slated to hit big screens in August 2024. ## Ashwatthama - Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment came up with the big announcement of the day, confirming the magnum opus with Shahid Kapoor in the title role. Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi has been attached to direct this biggie which will go on floors in September this year. ## Baaghi 4 - Tiger Shroff will be returning to headline producer Sajid Nadiadwala's action thriller. No other details have been locked yet. ## Kanguva - Tamil star Suriya teamed with director Siva for this fantasy action film, also starring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Produced by Studio Green, the movie will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Don 3 - The long-in-demand action thriller will star Ranveer Singh, replacing Shah Rukh Khan to play the titular role of Don. Kiara Advani will be playing the female lead with Farhan Akhtar to direct and produce under Excel Entertainment. ## Sanki - Sajid Nadiadwala recently announced this romantic actioner, starring Ahan Shetty, and Pooja Hegde. It will be directed by Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah, and it will be released in 2025. ## Kantara: Chapter 1 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's period action thriller film is a prequel to his mega-blockbuster film Kantara. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and it will have a Pan India release later this year. ## Hari Hara Veera Mallu - Director Krish Jagarlamudi's period action adventure film starring Pawan Kalyan has been in production for a long time. Produced by Mega Surya Production, the film also stars Nidhi Agarwal, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. ## Stree 2 - The hugely-awaited sequel to 2018's horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khuranna will be hitting cinemas this August. It is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. ## Ikkis - A biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC, the most highly decorated hero of the 1971 War, the movie stars Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra, and Jaideep Ahlawat. It is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films. ## Ustaad Bhagat Singh - Director Harish Shankar reunited with superstar Pawan Kalyan for this mass entertainer, also starring Sree Leela. Chennai, October 22 - Yogi Babu's acclaimed political satire comedy-drama film "Mandela" is among the 14 films shortlisted for India's entry to the Academy Awards 2022. Yogi Babu, who has become a popular name in Tamil cinema, won praise for his role in the film, which is set on the backdrop of a village panchayat election scenario between two political parties where a local barber's vote will determine the fate of the election. ## Apart from Mandela, Vidya Balan starrer "Sherni" has also been named on the list. In the film, directed by Amit V. Masurkar, Vidya plays an upright forest officer battling social barriers set by the patriarchal society and lackadaisical attitudes within her department. The movie was released directly on Amazon Prime Video and was one of the top-rated films on the streamer. ## Vicky Kaushal's recently released biographical historical drama, Sardar Udham, will also be battling out to become India's official entry in next year's Oscars. The direct-to-digital release is based on the life of Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter known for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Sardar Udham is one of the highest-rated Indian films of 2021 on IMDb. ## Among the 14 films, Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, and Kunchacko Boban's Malayalam film, Nayattu, has also made the cut on the list. Melbourne, August 20, 2021: The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) announced its winners for its 12th edition, which was held virtually on August 20 (Friday). This year's festival had a line-up of feature and short films from across India, representing the theme of diversity through cinema.## Pankaj Tripathi, who has been winning accolades for his versatility in films and web shows, was honored with the Diversity in Cinema Award presented by LaTrobe University. On winning the award, Pankaj Tripathi said, "This award is special for me, I'm humbled and it's really inspiring for me, my craft. The man who is here to give me this award, he is the one who discovered my talent. So thanks to Anurag Kashyap sir. He is the one who rediscovered my talent. I’m grateful to all my directors, writers for having me part of their projects". ## Tamil film Soorarai Pottru walked away with the Best Feature Film and Suriya won the Best Actor award for the same. Soorarai Pattru was released last year on Amazon Prime Video and has been winning accolades around the world since. It is also the highest-rated Indian movie on IMDb and the third-highest worldwide with a rating of 9.1. ## Suriya, on his part, thanked his fans and Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara, saying, "I'm sure all the nominees have given their best. This film is very special, and this is the first award I'm getting for this film. Thanks to all the fans who have given us so much love. In my career, I felt bored with what I was doing after having worked for 20 years. So thanks to my director Sudha — this film was her 10 years dream — she worked four years on writing or his film. The character of Maara will not be anything without her. I couldn't ask for more". ## Among the other top honours, Samantha Akkineni and Manoj Bajpayee won the best actress and best actor award for a web series. The duo headlined Prime Video's "The Family Man 2", which marked Samantha's digital as well as Hindi debut. Vidya Balan also won the best actress award for her movie Sherni, which also premiered on Amazon Prime Video. ## Indian filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Shoojit Sircar, Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Sriram Raghavan were amongst the presenters. Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan was set to direct Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the comedy film, Mr. Lele. The makers even released a poster of the film with a title featuring Dhawan, however, the movie was shelved last year around this time after Varun Dhawan reportedly expressed his displeasure over the script. ## Now, Shashank Khaitan is reviving the project but not with Varun and Janhvi. According to a leading entertainment portal, Vicky Kaushal has been roped in to play the role which was supposed to be played by Dhawan. The film, which is no longer titled Mr. Lele, is said to have two leading actresses in Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar. ## While the official announcement is due, the movie with a new title went on floors last week with Vicky and Kiara while Bhumi, who recently completed the social comedy "Badhai Do" with Rajkummar Rao, will join them soon. ## Khaitan's film will be Kaushal's first comedy movie and second film with Kiara Advani after the 2018 anthology "Lust Stories" with their segment being directed by Karan Johar.
