Los Angeles, March 13 - India has scripted history at the 95th Academy Awards. Kartiki Gonsalves-directed The Elephant Whisperers grabbed the Best Short Documentary Film Oscar, becoming the first-ever Oscar win for an Indian production. ## Produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment, "The Elephant Whisperers" revolves around a family who adopts two orphan baby elephants in Tamil Nadu's Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. The documentary depicts an unbreakable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers. ## Monga took to Twitter to express her delight in winning her second Oscar after "Period. The dance anthem of 2022, Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli's global sensation RRR scored a win in the Best Original Song at Oscars 2023. It is the first-ever Indian feature film to bring Oscar to any category. ## The win went to veteran composer M.M. Keeravani, who co-wrote all the songs for the film as well as its score, and lyricist Chandrabose.
