Mumbai, August 21 - Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has scored another big win after the blockbuster box office performance. Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, it has become the most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix.## Maharaja scored 1.3 million views in its 6th week which pushed its total viewership to 18.6 million on Netflix. This made it the most-watched Indian movie of the year on the streamer, beating Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Kareena Kapoor's Crew which generated 17.90 million views during its stay in the top 10 movie chart. ## Earlier, Maharaja had one of the biggest opening weekends for an Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix with 3.2 million, beating the likes of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2.9 million views) and Laapataa Ladies (2.2 million views), and on par with Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan (3.2 million views), among others.## Currently, it is the only South Indian movie in the top 10 most-watched Indian titles of the year on Netflix. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days. Box Office: Thiruchitrambalam Races Past 100 Crores Worldwide To Emerge Biggest Grosser For Dhanush

Chennai, August 30 - Tamil star Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam has performed exceptionally well at the box office, as a result, it has raced past the 100 crores mark worldwide. Directed by Mithran R Jawahar, the romantic comedy-drama film has become the first for Dhanush to achieve this box office milestone. ## "Thiruchitrambalam" scored a fantastic 50.45 crores in the opening week and continues to mint money in the second week as well, taking a total net collection to 65.47 crores after 12 days. The movie has been excellent in the international markets too, grossing approx. 23 crores, for worldwide cum total to approx. 101 crores. ## The film has overtaken Dhanush's Bollywood debut film "Raanjhanaa", which was previously the highest-grossing film of his career with approx. 94 crores worldwide. D44: Sun Pictures Announces The Stellar Star Cast For Mithran Jawahar Directorial

Chennai, August 5, 2021: Dhanush is gearing up to start shooting for his next film, referred as #D44, with director Mithran Jawahar. The movie will be produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures. The film, expected to be a family drama with its share of romance, will mark the fourth collaboration between the director and the actor, after Yaaradi Mohini, Kutty, and Uthamaputhiran. ## The story is set in two time periods "” the protagonist's college days and his adulthood. Dhanush has two love interests, one during the college portions and another for the latter part of the hero's life. #D44 will have music by Anirudh, who will be joining hands with Dhanush after five years.## The title of D44 will be announced on August 5 at 6 PM. Meanwhile, a day before the title announcement, Sun Pictures introduced the stellar star cast of D44. The Mission Mangal actress, Nithya Menon has been roped in to play one of the female leads. She will be sharing screen space with Dhanush for the first time, and she is likely to be paired opposite his character in the post-college portions. ## Raashii Khanna has also been roped in to play an important role.
