Mumbai, August 8, 2021: India finished Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a best-ever haul of 7 medals after javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra's historic gold medal win. Chopra, who is also a Subedar in the Indian Army, created history and becomes the first-ever Olympic athletics gold medalist for India. He is also the only second individual after Abhinav Bindra to win a gold medal at the Olympic games. ## It was Neeraj Chopra's debut outing in the Olympic games and make it a memorable one by throwing 87.58 meters in the final to win the gold medal. Chopra had also topped the qualification round with a breathtaking 86.59m throw and in the final, his first two throws were above 87m, which assured India's first gold medal in 13-years. ## Meanwhile, the whole nation is celebrating Chopra historic win.
