Marvel Studios 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Domestic (North America) Opening Weekend Box Office Forecast Revealed

Los Angeles, July 21 - The Hollywood film industry is currently riding high on back-to-back box office successes, with recent titles like F1, Jurassic World Rebirth, and Superman drawing in huge crowds. The upcoming lineup through the year is looking promising, with several titles expected to score big numbers. ## The spotlight shifts to Marvel Studios’ much-anticipated release, Fantastic Four: First Steps — the second reboot of the iconic superhero franchise, which is generating solid buzz ahead of its theatrical debut. According to a report by Deadline, pre-sales for First Steps are already tracking ahead of Marvel's own Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World, setting the stage for a promising domestic opening. ## Disney is reportedly projecting a conservative $100 million to $110 million debut weekend in North America. However, independent box office trackers are far more optimistic, estimating an opening between $125 million and $145 million. The higher projection, however, might not (or may be) turn into reality as pre-sales are reportedly around 20% behind DC's Superman, which recently debuted with $123 million. But if the reviews are positive, the higher opening is very much expected. ## The Fantastic Four franchise has historically seen lukewarm openings. The last instalment, 2015's Fantastic Four, opened with just $25 million domestically, and the highest opener in the series remains 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer, which collected $58 million, only marginally higher than the $56 million earned by the 2005 original. ## Still, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's brand power and a fresh creative direction, Fantastic Four: First Steps is poised to breathe new life into the franchise and is set to deliver its biggest opening yet. As Hollywood continues to stack up major wins this summer, all eyes are now on Marvel’s First Family to keep the momentum going. ## About The Fantastic Four: First Steps ## Directed by Matt Shakman, The First Steps is intended to be the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the titular team, alongside Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson. In the film, the Fantastic Four must protect their 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic world from the planet-devouring cosmic being Galactus (Ineson). ## The movie is scheduled to release on July 25. ## Stay tuned...

Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, June 22 - The long-range box office projections for the upcoming Tom Cruise-fronted Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One are revealed and they are good enough to make it the biggest opener in the Mission Impossible franchise. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, MI7 is tracking for a franchise-best opening in the $90 million range at the domestic (North America) box office. On the other hand, Box Office Pro shared their projections that the film will open between $65 million and $80 million in its 3-day domestic opening weekend.## Should MI7 open as projected, it will be the biggest opener in the franchise, beating "Mission: Impossible - Fallout's" $61.2 million opening weekend in 2018. The Paramount and Skydance tentpole will release on July 12 in North America, a Wednesday. ## Top Mission Impossible films openings in North America - ## 1. Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) - $61.2 million## 2. Mission: Impossible II (2000) - $57.8 million## 3. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) - $55.5 million## 4. Mission: Impossible III (2006) - $47.7 million## 5. Mission: Impossible (1996) - $45.4 million## According to THR, moviegoers are seeing the new Mission: Impossible film as a sort of spiritual sequel to "Top Gun: Maverick" even though the two movies aren't part of the same franchise. Maverick was released last year and became the highest-grossing film of Tom Cruise by grossing nearly $1.5 million worldwide, including $718.7 million domestically. ## Box Office Pro has more or less the same thing to say that the selling points for "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" includes not only the critical and commercial success of its 2018 predecessor, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but the enormous goodwill earned by star Tom Cruise from last year's Top Gun: Maverick.## The movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie who also helmed "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two", which is set to open June 28, 2024. The movie stars Tom Cruise as an IMF agent, Ethan Hunt, along with Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, and Charles Parnell.## Stay tuned...
