Director Mohan Raja Provides Exciting Update On Jayam Ravi's 'Thani Oruvan 2'

Chennai, March 6 - The action thriller Thani Oruvan (2015) is one of the most successful Tamil films that saw actor Jayam Ravi and director Mohan Raja teaming up. It was the last time when celebrity siblings in the Tamil industry came together for a film after delivering multiple hits together. ## In the past, the possibility of a sequel to "Thani Oruvan" was announced but the movie couldn't be launched. The duo of Jayam and Mohan have talked about reuniting for "Thani Oruvan 2" on multiple stages, and it seems, things are finally heading in the right direction. ## Last month, Jayam Ravi revealed that "Thani Oruvan 2" is taking to materialize, and now, director Mohan Raja has also himself confirmed the same. During the trailer launch event of "Soppana Sundari", Mohan Raja revealed that TO2 will definitely go on floors by late this year or in 2024. ## It is said that Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara will reprise their roles from the original film in the second part which is said to be produced by Vels Films International. However, the official confirmation is yet to be. ## "Thani Oruvan" was remade in Telugu as "Dhruva" with Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh as lead performers with Arvind Swamy reprising his role in Telugu. The film starring Kangana Ranaut traced Jayalalithaa's journey from a successful actress to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.## The movie ended on such a note that the story still could have explored a lot more or perhaps a key part of Jayalalitha's life. "It was a conscious decision to tell this part of her journey, that's why if you see the poster, it says, 'Cinema se CM tak (from cinema to the CM)'. Politics is another chapter of her life over 20-30 years and cramming it within 15 minutes wouldn't have done it justice".## "100%, there was always the intention that if we want to show her (Jayalalithaa's) journey ahead, then we'll show it in part 2. Let's see if the story takes shape. Of course, we've spoken to Kanganaji. Y'all all are saying that we haven't shown her journey after becoming the CM, so if y'all are saying that there's so much more story left to show, then definitely it can be shown, the story is there.
