
Director Sooraj Barjatya Approaches Shahid Kapoor To Headline 'Prem Ki Shaadi'
Mumbai, March 6 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and director Sooraj Barjatya were supposed to reunite for a family drama film Prem Ki Shaadi, however, it was recently reported that the actor has backed out from the project over creative issues. ## Later, it was reported that the filmmaker would be tweaking the script and would make it with younger actors. Now, according to Peepingmoon.com, talented actor Shahid Kapoor, who just scored a box office hit in the form of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, has been approached to headline the film. ## Shahid and Sooraj Barjatya have previously worked on the romantic drama Vivah which was a box-office hit and later earned a cult status with immense popularity in every household on television. It is said that when Salman backed out from Prem Ki Shaadi, the filmmaker immediately approached Shahid and things have been processing in the right direction. ## The duo has met multiple times and Barjatya is hopeful of getting Shahid on board the film which is an ambitious family drama and will be mounted on a grand scale. Interestingly, Shahid's character name in Vivah was also Prem who is quite popular in Barjatya's films. ## If all goes well, Prem Ki Shaadi will go on floors by the end of this year or early next year. Shahid, meanwhile, has a few big films in the pipeline. The actor currently shooting for the thriller film Deva, and has a historical film based on Ashwatthama from Mahabharta with Pooja Entertainment. The actor is also in talks for a film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with OMG 2 director Amit Rai. ## Stay tuned...
