'Wonder Woman 1984' Director Patty Jenkins Hopes Film Lets Fans Discover The Hero Within

Filmmaker Patty Jenkins says she is hoping to use her upcoming film, Wonder Woman 1984, to add to the conversation on how each of us can discover the hero within. The $200 million-budget superhero adventure was originally supposed to release earlier this year but got delayed repeatedly amid the COVID crisis. Finally, the Gal Gadot-starrer will open in India just ahead of Christmas, on December 24.## "I hope that people come to the film and love it, of course. But I also hope that everyone gets something more out of it as well", Jenkins said as reported in Zee News.## "I want it to be a great time and a great superhero film experience, but I also hope to use our film to add to the conversation in this world about how each of us can find the hero within. That's what this world needs, so I'm so happy to get to be a part of that thought process", she added.## Gadot reprises her role as Diana Prince and her superhero alter ego Wonder Woman in the sequel of the 2017 DC blockbuster. The much-awaited Wonder Woman 1984 teases the beginning of a "new era of wonder" with a new battle, new armor, a new set of villains, edgier action, and a reunion with her long-lost love.## Opening up about the story and the character, the filmmaker said, "Well, in general, DC characters are natural-born heroes, and their stories are true heroes' journeys about these true north heroes who power comes easily to, and what to do with that power is their struggle".## "I'm drawn to that issue of how to be good and what being a hero is. Wonder Woman gives me that opportunity. I love superhero movies, and as a filmmaker, I feel that it's important that you really love what you're doing but also when it comes to these kinds of characters, that you are a champion of that brand". she added.## Stay tuned...

'We Didn't Have Any Better Options', Gal Gadot On Wonder Woman 1984's HBO Max Plan

After the first part of the Gal Gadot starrer superhero film, Wonder Woman (2017), fans around the world were eagerly waiting for its sequel since then. The second part, Wonder Woman 1984 was shot in 2018 and started the promotions in the next in the hope of a timely release. However, it was pushed back on four occasions due to the covid-19 pandemic and now, it is finally set to release on December 25 in the USA. ## Wonder Woman 1984 was indeed one of the much-awaited films around the world for various reasons and the pre-release buzz around has been insane. Though things are still not the same as Warner Bros. has decided to release the movie on streaming platform HBO Max and in theaters simultaneously. This move by the makers was largely criticized, however, Wonder Woman aka Gal Gadot is one of the few who has supported the studios' plan to release the movie on HBO Max. ## "The truth of the matter is that we didn't have any better options. We felt like we were sitting on the movie for such a long time. We shot the movie in 2018, we started promoting it in 2019, we pushed the movie four times. We felt like the movie was so relevant to what's happening in the world right now that you come to a place at a certain time where you are like, 'ok' I just want people to watch the movie", Gal Gadot told Digital Spy according to LetsOTT.com. ## Warner Bros. didn't stop here as the studio has put his entire schedule of 2021 on HBO Max and theaters which includes movies like, Godzilla vs Kong, Dune, Matrix 4, The Suicide Squad, and many more. The decision was taken considering the pandemic situation. ## On the other hand, according to LetsOTT, Warner Bros had sent around 10 million US dollars to some of the cast and crew members of Wonder Woman 1984 as they wanted the third film from the franchise and didn't want to suffer a fallout because of their HBO Max idea. Wonder Woman 1984 will come out on HBO Max wherever it is available and in theaters at the same time. ## Directed by Patty Jenkins, the movie will debut in theaters in India on a day before its US release on December 24. ## Also Read - Warner Bros' Bold Move To Release Its Movies Simultaneously on HBO Max and Theaters Gets Mixed Response## Stay tuned...

Is it possible for that to happen again this Christmas with Wonder Woman 1984 between theatres and HBO Max?" Killar wrote Wednesday. "We are so excited to find out, doing everything in our power to provide the power of choice to fans".## Fans aren't too pleased with Warner Bros' strategy and have been protesting on social media against the film's release on HBO Max. Some are even miffed that countries without HBO Max are not taken into consideration. A fan asked Patty Jenkins, "Patty, do you know how long the movie will be at theaters? weeks? months? and what about countries that don't have HBO MAX and the cinemas are not opened?".## Responding to them she wrote, "Good question. We have plans to hold it in theaters for quite a long time, and hopefully long enough that it will still be there when theaters all over the world ARE open".## Apart from Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman 1984 will also star Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen in the key roles. It is produced by DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, The Stone Quarry, and Mad Ghost Productions. ## Stay tuned...

Gal Gadot: Wonder Woman's alter ego Diana has 'evolved' in new film

Los Angeles, April 14 (IANS) Actress Gal Gadot, who will return for Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman 1984", shared how Wonder Woman's alter ego Diana has "evolved" in the upcoming installment .## "The first movie was a coming of age, it was Diana becoming Wonder Woman. She was very naive and she didn't understand the complexities of life. A fish out of water. In this movie, that's not the case whatsoever. Diana has evolved. She's much more mature and very wise," Gadot told Empire magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.## She said that "something crazy" will happen involving Chris Pine's alter ego, Steve Trevor.## "However, she's very lonely. She lost all of her team members and she's guarded. And then something crazy happens."## Gadot opened up about how she and Jenkins were keen on working with Pine again.## "Chris was an integral part of the movie, and of its success. And because he and I and Patty really enjoyed working together, we all wanted to have him back. And Patty and (co-writer) Geoff Johns found the best way that serves the narrative to bring Steve back."## For more and latest news about Hollywood, stay tuned with us.

Patty Jenkins wants to make third 'Wonder Woman' film

Los Angeles, April 5 (IANS) Filmmaker Patty Jenkins has hinted that she wants to make a third "Wonder Woman" film.## In an interview to SciFiNow, the writer-and-director said that she has many plans about the popular superhero character, essayed by Gal Gadot, reports dailymail.co.uk.## The 48-year-old will release "Wonder Woman 1984" later this year -- her second film with Gadot as the titular heroine.## Asked about the possibility of a third film, she said: " 'Wonder Woman 3' oh wow! I'm trying to make myself not think about that because every movie has to be taken on its own but there's definitely final things for me that I haven't got to explore with 'Wonder Woman' that we'll have to see if we can go and explore."## Despite the success of 2017's "Wonder Woman", Jenkins doesn't think that automatically means the sequel will be a hit.## She said: "Every movie is its own struggle to touch people and make a difference. 'Wonder Woman surprised a lot of people so (with the sequel) you're walking into a situation where they're waiting for you to fail more than ever. So it's no different because making the first movie was the same in that everybody went, 'Wonder Woman, come on, no you can't'."## "There's a history of these movies tanking and so it was a lot of pressure to be the person to take on trying to bring that movie to life. It's a lot of pressure again to try and make this one live up to what it could be, so in both cases, I've simply focused on, aI love Wonder Woman and I love this genre of film at its best and so I'm just trying to make a great film," she added.## Her comments come after Warner Bros. delayed the summer release of "Wonder Woman 1984" due to the coronavirus pandemic.## In the sequel of the megahit 2017 DC film, Gadot will be back as Wonder Woman with edgier action for a new battle with new villains. The Warner Bros film comes with the tag line "A new era of wonder begins". "Wonder Woman 1984" will now release on August 14 instead of June 5.## For more and latest news about Hollywood, stay tuned with us.
