'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' Beats 'Venom' At The Domestic Box Office After Re-Release

Los Angeles, January 24 - Tom Hardy-fronted "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is putting strong legs at the domestic box office, even after it was made available on PVOD services in late November 2021. ## The superhero movie, directed by Andy Serkis, was re-released second last weekend in the domestic (North America) market. The Marvel/ Sony film grossed an additional $175k in its second weekend of re-release and 17th overall, lifting its overall domestic cume to an estimated $213.5 million.## After its latest box office figure, "Venom 2" has matched the total cume of 2018's "Venom" movie at the domestic box office and will cross it anytime now. "Venom 2" was already the 3rd highest domestic grosser of the covid-19 pandemic era, and now, with crossing "Venom", it has achieved another milestone. Not to forget, "Venom" had released in a time when there was no covid. ## At the worldwide box office, "Venom 2" is only the 4th Hollywood title of the pandemic era to cross $500 million, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home", "James Bond - No Time To Die", and "Fast & Furious 9". With nearly $503 million, "Venom 2", however, is way behind "Venom's" global cume of $856 million.## The movie stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson in prominent roles. In the film, Brock and the alien symbiote Venom must face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) after he becomes the host of an offshoot of Venom named Carnage.## Interestingly, the next "Venom" movie could be the ultimate decider as it might introduce the face-off between Spider-Man and Venom. The post-credit scenes of both movies also indicate the face-off between these two comic book archnemesis. ## Stay tuned...

Venom Actor Woody Harrelson Punched A Man In Self-Defense

Mumbai, October 8 - "Venom - Let There Be Carnage" actor Woody Harrelson got into a scuffle with a man on Wednesday night and allegedly punched him. ## The incident took place on the rooftop of Washington DC's infamous Watergate Hotel at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday where a man wasn't stopping taking pictures with the 60-year old actor and his daughter, according to NBC4 Washington.## It is reported that Harrelson approached the man and told him to stop taking photos and delete the ones he had already captured. This got him into a verbal argument with the man, who then lunged towards Harrelson to grab his neck, and the actor punched the man in the neck in self-defense.## Police were called to the hotel after the incident happened. A report by police officers then tells how the actor admitted he got into a verbal dispute with the man and he punched him "in his neck in defense of himself". ## Witnesses backed up the 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' star's account of what had happened, and police told NBC Washington their statements suggested the other man had been the aggressor. An investigation is ongoing, but NBC4 notes that Harrelson wasn't charged.## Meanwhile, Woody Harrelson has a long history of getting into trouble with people taking pictures of him and making videos. In 1995, he got into a scuffle with two paparazzi who he claimed had stalked his family during a visit to Martha's Vineyard and was later ordered to pay one of them over $4,800, while the other, who had filmed the incident, was given just $2.## In 2008, he was sued for reportedly attacking and breaking the video camera of a photographer, with the case dismissed two years later after they agreed on a settlement out of court. He was also accused by a paparazzi of assaulting him and damaging his video camera at New York's LaGuardia Airport in 2019, but no charges were filed or further action was taken.## Stay tuned...

Venom 2 Review: Critics Call This Tom Hardy Fronted A Silly But A Fun Watch

Mumbai, September 30 - Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist who is the host of an alien symbiote Venom, in the superhero film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It is the second film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the standalone sequel to the blockbuster "Venom" (2018). ## In "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", Eddie Brock tries to reignite his career in journalism by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who becomes the host of the alien symbiote spawn of Venom, named Carnage. The film is directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, based on a story she wrote with Tom Hardy. ## "Venom 2" stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom alongside Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, and Stephen Graham in prominent roles. The movie is scheduled to open in the USA on October 1 after being preponed from October 15. In India, the movie will debut in theaters on October 14. Meanwhile, the reviews of "Venom 2" are out and the critics are liking it. ## Check them here - ## Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a wild-ass movie of the highest order. Ultraviolent rom com that is delightfully self aware and weird. Tom Hardy gives 200%. Whatever you do, don"™t miss the post-credits. #VenomLetThereBeCarnage pic.twitter.com/yoSBH67wMs— Dan Casey (@DanCasey) September 28, 2021 ## Review: #VenomLetThereBeCarnage 3.5/5 🌟'sThe second installation of Venom is well worth the wait & loads of fun. The Venom sequel finds its stride as a dark comedy, infused with Woody Harrelson's fresh, chaotic energy. Tom Hardy is fantastic & officially owns this role now. pic.twitter.com/0NLGbrssDg— Cinema Tweets (@CinemaTweets1) September 28, 2021 ## Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the Citizen Kane of Marvel movies. Tom Hardy delivers what can only be described as deeply nuanced and multi-layered performance as Eddie Brock. His dramatic scenes with Venom are a masterclass in acting. A Masterpiece. #VenomLetThereBeCarnage pic.twitter.com/9ZJdmLujNW— Scott Menzel (@ScottDMenzel) September 29, 2021 ## The special effects for #VenomLetThereBeCarnage was absolutely incredible. There were so many beautiful shots throughout the movie that perfectly bring to life both Venom and Carnage. pic.twitter.com/kuaoypWifH— Matt Ramos (@therealsupes) September 28, 2021 ## #VenomLetThereBeCarnage is SILLY. But apparently it's my kind of silly. I ❤️ Eddie and Venom - maybe too much ... so much that my brain lets this movie get away with a whole lotta nonsense. Also, yes, there's a credits scene and yes, you very much need to see it. pic.twitter.com/iPAtLXGk6X— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) September 29, 2021 ## #VenomLetThereBeCarnage was a mixed bag for me. Tom Hardy shines in the comedic role he was born to play, but a tonally inconsistent script & a jarring breakneck pace hurt the film overall. Stay for the post credit scene that serves as a marvelous tease for big things to come! 👀 pic.twitter.com/W4zHtRrTkQ— Diego Andaluz (@thediegoandaluz) September 29, 2021 ## I can guarantee you that you will leave the theater after watching #VenomLetThereBeCarnage being so HYPED for everything that"™s coming!— Matt Ramos (@therealsupes) September 28, 2021 ## Stay tuned...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Hopes To Score Big At The Domestic Box Office In The Blockbuster Month Of October!

Los Angeles, September 30 - Sony Pictures' superhero film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has a task in hand to deliver at the box office. A strong box office performance at the domestic front from Tom Hardy-fronted could set the tone for the rest of the movies coming out in the month of October in form of the potential blockbusters, "No Time to Die" on October 8, "Halloween Kills" on October 15, and "Dune" on October 22. ## Going into the box office business, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has plenty of things in favor. For the first time since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, the USA box office is witnessing a quick recovery, thanks to the recent releases, "Shang-Chi", "Free Guy", "A Quiet Place 2", and others. There is also a great vibe about moviegoing right now, which is just the beginning and expected to reach a pre-covid level soon. ## "Venom 2" is releasing on the back of a solid box office performance of Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings", which not only led Disney to announce an exclusive theatrical release of its upcoming movies but also was one of the reasons behind Venom's release being pushed up to October 1 from October 15.## Talking about "Venom 2's" box office potential, Sony Pictures is conservatively estimating $40 million over three days at 4,200 plus locations. However, the local surveys and tracking and leading exhibitors are looking at a minimum $60 million debuts at the North America box office. "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" might not reach $80.2M, which was scored by "Venom" in 2018, but it is surely going to surprise everyone. ## There is another thing in favor of Andy Serkis-directed sequel that it got great reviews from critics unlike Venom, which was rated just 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film had grossed over $856M worldwide including $213 million at the domestic box office. However, it was the time when the world was completely naive about the covid-19, which one year later, brought the world to its knees. ## Keeping the pandemic aside, "Venom 2" is expected to have a good run at the box office. It is the second film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe. The film is directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, based on a story she wrote with Tom Hardy who stars as Eddie Brock / Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. ## Stay tuned...

'Now You See Me 3' in the pipeline

Los Angeles, April 29 (IANS) The third chapter of popular heist series "Now You See Me" is being developed, with Eric Warren Singer on board to pen the script of the movie.## Lionsgate has brought on screenwriter Warren Singer, an Oscar nominee for his work on "American Hustle", to add a fresh take to the story, reports deadline.com.## "Eric has always been fascinated with the fine art of deception and illusion in all of its forms and he came to us with a great story that takes the mythology of aNow You See Me' and pushes 'The Four Horsemen' to a whole new level with our key returning cast and new characters," said Nathan Kahane, President of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.## "The Now You See Me' franchise has been built on keeping the audience surprised and guessing. Any great magician knows you can't keep doing the same tricks. Covid-19 effect: Wait for 'Venom' sequel gets longer

Los Angeles, April 22 (IANS) Tom Hardys much-anticipated "Venom" sequel has been delayed by eight months amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.## The second installment in the action-fantasy series, directed by Andy Serkis, was slated to release on October 2, 2020.## The sequel, officially titled "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", will instead launch eight months later on June 25, 2021, reports variety.com.## In 2018, "Venom" introduced Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom. It follows the popular Marvel anti-hero as he transforms from a go-getter journalist to the powerful alien symbiote. The film put the conflict of good versus bad in the center stage.## Serkis is directing Sony's follow-up to "Venom", which sees Hardy again assume the alien symbiote. The first film became a surprise box office hit, earning $855 million globally. Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott and Naomie Harris will also appear in the sequel.## By postponing "Venom" until next year, Sony has reshuffled nearly every movie scheduled to release in 2020. The studio already pushed back many of its major films, including "Morbius" (from July 31, 2020, to March 19, 2021), "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" (from July 10, 2020, to March 5, 2021) and Tom Holland's "Uncharted" (from March 5, 2021, to Oct. 8, 2021).## For more and latest news about Hollywood, stay tuned with us.
