
SS Rajamouli's Period Drama, RRR's Post Theatrical Release Digital And Satellite Rights Begs By Zee Group For A Record Price?
Hyderabad, May 21, 2021: Baahubali director, S.S. Rajamouli's upcoming magnum opus, "RRR", headed by Jr. NTR and Ram Charan is surely one of the highly awaited films of the year. The film is scheduled for October 13 release this year after getting delayed a few times due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## While the release of the film is still a few months away, the period drama film is already finding itself in media headlines for its pre-release activities. Being one of the biggest budgeted films and huge pan India demand, RRR has been the top priority of many streaming platforms for begging post-theatrical rights, including digital and satellite rights. But now, it seems the race of acquiring post-release rights of RRR has reached its conclusion. ## According to reports, leading corporate group, Zee Group has bagged the all-language post-release digital and satellite rights for a whopping 325 Crore and makes it the biggest deal in the history of Indian cinema. It is to be known that Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios had post-release satellite and digital rights for the Hindi market along with electronic for all languages, which has now reportadly been transferred to Zee group. Meanwhile, Pen Studios had also got the theatrical rights of RRR for Hindi, which is still with them. ## There was a buzz last year about the "RRR" team joining hands with Star Network for satellite and digital rights, however, after the current deal, Star is out of the race, and its Zee Group who has managed to grab gold with this prestigious project. ## RRR is a fictitious story based on two Legendary Telugu Freedom Fighters – Alluri Seetha Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan will play Alluri while NTR will play the Telangana Warrior. The movie has also a Bollywood star cast with Ajay Devgn and Alia who play pivotal roles in the movie. ## Stay tuned...
