The film has officially been censored with U/A (16+) by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes (153 minutes). ## As per reports, the CBFC has asked to make 22 changes, including replacing abusive words and replacing as many as 10 scenes with CGI. Due to changes, 2 minutes and 6 seconds of scenes were cut and replaced with appropriate visuals, totalling 1 minute and 37 seconds.## The official plot summary of Jaat reveals, "In a remote coastal village, ruthless criminal Varadaraja Ranatunga terrorizes the locals. A traveling stranger's chance encounter with his men uncovers the villagers' suffering. Realizing the deep-rooted corruption, he takes matters into his own hands.
